Funny, But True: Cultural Differences
They say that you cannot truly understand someone until you have walked in their shoes. In this global environment, many of us have been there and tripped along the way. But hopefully every time, we got up with a better understanding of our surroundings and how to avoid the same pitfalls.
Many of you extensively learned in my classes the critical
International business practices, geographical norms on societal, ethical, economic and cultural standards that, make or break the deal. I consider David Livermore, his books, and Great Courses Series as the master reference for Cultural Intelligence. You've seen his videos in my classrooms but this April in London you can learn directly from the source of the ground-breaking research and worldwide standardized test so you can get ahead of the rat race and run sure-footed across an ever-changing multi-national landscape.
The world's most successful executives place developing cultural competence on the top of their list of business priorities. Gaining expertise in using the leading CQS measurement tool offers direct practice with and insight into particular social, cultural and political perceptions and their conditions, integral to successfully working with/in and communicating to a global market. In addition to acquiring competitive market intelligence about these countries, you'll learn how to create strategic alliances. The advert team for the bank did a great job with this series.
Same happened to me in Hongkong.... I was invited by my colleagues for dinner and I was taught that keeping my plate clean shows gratitude on the hosts.. I got sooo confused because they kept adding food in my plate without me asking!! I learned my lesson now and leave some food at my plate 😂😂Truly hospitable people 😂
I loved the British about not keeping anything on the plate and Chinese keeping little on the plate once you are finished eating.

The video is very interesting and funny, I loved the part that says "of course one could adapt". I think it's interesting and necessary to know things, customs, rules of other countries to avoid cultural misunderstandings.
I loved the video. My teacher recommended me to watch it as part of our intercultural communication learning.
I really appreciate this video. BIG THUMBS UP!!!
My class made me watch this!
i was in a malay village where they used same style washing-machines. they attached rubber knobs around the inside of the wash cylinder, loaded it with hot water, put it on spin cycle and yep - the perfect chicken plucker. yeah for innovation :) love the eels
Thanks to my lecturer who has recommended this such a funny video❤️
I´ll never give you up, let you down
My English teacher made me watch this video and I loved it. When you go to a different country, you'll find there are many things you have never read in books. Then, you should try to find more information about these cultural differences.
I think I'm the only one who searched this, "cultural differences all around the world". . . . . . And it's worth it 😂

This is a hilarious video. We can see some embarrassing moments because of cultural misunderstandings. I think that now we can avoid some uncomfortable situations in other countries.
Searching for a video about cultural differences to lead a casual conversation at work

I think this video is interesting and funny. I also think that each person should be informed about the customs of any country that we are going to visit.

Really, to know others culture is a big challangr, but also it is a funny work. I remember when I knew a norwegian and he always ask me a beer after the lunch. I thought ...why?? I have a juice 😅
waoooo!!! 😱😱How interesting to know about cultural differences, there should be more computer videos since books or tourist guides do not give that information.
It is an interesting and funny video, it is funny because many times what is normal for us, for others people have another meaning
Pozdrawiam wszystkich słuchaczy

As much as I enjoyed the video, I'm dubious as to the portrayal of the Indian ad where the shop owner seems to be using the washing machine to prepare lassi in large quantities. Its hilarious and yet so ridiculous. This shows how much HSBC has researched cultures from around the world. I'm going to simply ignore the credibility of these aspects of the cultural undertones as merely facetious, for entertainment purposes only and not to be considered remotely true unless accompanied by your own investigation. You can do better HSBC.
