FUNKY PHILIPPINES BEACH HOUSE - Southern Palawan Motor Travel (Becoming Filipino)

WE FOUND OURSELVES AT A FUNKY BEACH HOUSE IN RIZAL, PALAWAN!
Making our way down the south coast... I find myself traveling with diarrhoea! Yup, not fun. But hey, still gotta power on and make the best of it! We start by driving another section of southern road from Quezon to Rizal. The area is beautiful, full of rice fields, trees, and relaxed Provincial vibes. We reach the Municipality of Rizal, and found some local weaving products. Here, the locals make various things out of nito... a kind of vine.
At a nearby fishing beach, we find a resort called "Petal's" and check in to their funky wooden bamboo beach house. The locals in the area are kind, chilled, and at one point showed me a cool area to swim and find lobsters!
This is just another awesome day on the road motoring in southern Palawan!
Welcome to the town of Rizal!

Tundan doesn't really work for me. Was recommended by titos and titas growing up but doesn't really work. Cardaba/saba on the other hand is the best for me. I have gerd and cardaba always help calm my damn stomach down. Nausea, hangover, headache, hyperacidity, LBM, constipation, hemorrhoids will be gone with 2-3 Cardabas. Works like magic.

It worked in my 1 yr. old & 6 mos. daughter when she was little, she got lbm & kept vomitting, & it worked on me as well, as long as it’s not ripe. Get the one that’s unripe with a little bit of green color on it’s peel or still has the “APLOD” taste because it’s kinda “HILAW” pa.

Thank you Kulas. You were able to share the places in Palawan outside the resorts. We were not able to see those places eventhough we were born in the Philippines. We enjoyed watching your vlogs. You are not afraid to interact with the local Filipino people. That's what makes you unique compared to the other foreigners who decided to stay in the Philippines but scared to be outside of their bubbles. Take care and more power to you. Shout out from The Caibal's. Toronto, Canada. We love you Kulas and friends.❤❤❤

Hi Kulas & Kumar, To prevent diarrhea, wash hands frequently, stick to bottled water or request for hot water, peel fruits to eat by not touching it, eat thoroughly cooked meats/fish, avoid dairy, greasy, spicy foods until recovered, and take Imodium, Gatorade or oral rehydration salts if diarrhea develops to avoid dehydration. I hope, Kyle , you’re feeling much better!😊

Always remember the BRAT diet when having diarrhea. B-banana, R-rice(plain), A-apple sauce, T-toasted bread. Drink Gatorade or any drinks with electrolytes. Jello or gelatin is also good. I think it’s better to eat plain bread. I would avoid anything with coconut/ coconut milk or oily foods..😂 but you ate it, so maybe your diarrhea is not that bad. I hope you’re feeling better by now and good luck on your trip. Power on!

I got amebic dysentery in Surigao about 10 years ago, for about 4-5 days I thought I was dying. Never since then have I eaten street food or from a caranderia. It stays dormant and the smallest microbe can release it again and I don't want that. To you guys and everyone else be careful where and what you eat. Also Filipinos have built up enzymes in their systems so they are not as prone to Delhi Belly as us soft westerners. Buy adult diapers, then you can ride and poop at the same time. Take care.

I have a personal experience with a "mamikpikay" when I was younger. It happened in Dipolog while visiting some family members. I was having some drinks (tagay) with my cousins when all of a sudden I felt very sick and had the feeling that my stomach was being turned inside out... Instinctively my cousins asked me what I had to eat because they noticed that I hadn't drunk much enough to cause me to throw up. I said I hadn't eaten anything that I knew would make me sick, but that's when one of my cousin's friends said that he saw a particular person from their town who sat across from me at the table, apparently that person was known as a "mamikpikay" , and apparently what that person did was tapped (or pikpik) the table while my hands were on top of it (mamikpikays apparently can afflict their curse in that manner). As it was confirmed that I was a victim of a mamikpikay that called for the local mananambal, or faith healer and asked to "reverse" the curse. So what the mananambal did was she performed some sort of healing ritual, smoked some leaves on my head and stomach, and made me drink some "prayed over" water... curiously tho, after a short while I felt better, that's when the mananambal instructed me to tap on the table for good measure (her exact words were, pikpika ang lamesa aron makabawi ka)... I did what she said and that was that... until I found out the next day that the alleged mamikpikay was very sick since the night I was "cured",until that very day, which confirmed that he was the one placed the curse on me... I also found out that that is what mamikpikays do when there is a new face in town.
