Aww thank you for the shout out. It was great to have you guys on, it was a lot of fun! Funko really needs to start listening to the customers more in my opinion. I really think they would be a lot more successful if they listened to the buyers more. They really need to do nostalgia more and FINISH a lot more of the lines they have started.

If they made a simpsons one they could make the bag duff themed

From now on, if they make 8k of each soda character, then 4k gets sold in a cooler bag and the rest are available for individual sale. That way you can buy the set with the bag, then go back and grab the character you really wanna chase without ending up with extra bags and commons.

Great Vid! I agree with you! At this point Funko should take all the coolers, and pull out the soda’s, then sell them individually. That will help eliminate their problem of storing this glut of coolers, and as you pointed out, would make them more money in the long run. For collectors it would give them the chance of possibly getting that chase they need for their collection. Trying to not stress is not an easy thing to do. But it is good advice to not stress the small things in life. Just let some things go and not worry as much. Hope you get better soon snd your pain becomes more tolerable.

That actually does sound like a good idea at a certain point for when a cooler has been out for a while and is not selling out. I know I would pick up some individual extras but I would still buy the whole cooler at first. I hope we still get coolers in the future. Awesome video!

Here in Australia we miss out on so many pops and Sodas I would love to see more come here and I’m sure loads of Aussies would feel the same way. I would LOVE to get the Peanuts Soda Cooler most of all 🥰

As an Australian I 100% agree with your comment. I want the peanuts soda cooler too. We miss out on way too much. Funko needs to allow us to buy directly from their website. Plus we need more Aussie stores selling them too.

Yeah, I think individually selling the sodas and throwing in the bag if you buy six would be cool. Teresa has an awesome collection of sodas. Great supporter of the collecting community. Praying that the pinched nerve gets better!

The soda cooler is a good product for those who really want all six characters or if you just like all six sodas in the cooler. Like me I only have gotten the Ninja Turtle, Petter Pan and Peanuts coolers. There is some chases from those coolers that I would like to get and maybe eventually I will. I wish Funko would had put the Airbender cooler for 50% off. I would had bought one. After watching you and Joana open this cooler line, I fall in love with it. Hoping that it will go on sale in the near future. I would be happy having all commons.❤️🌹🌹🌸💐🪻

I like some of the coolers and have gotten 4 of the ones they released. The cooler bag itself is a problem, cause lack of space. I think the bags are cool, but they do take up space. I wouldn`t mind a Star Wars cooler of course. And after watching the awesome Avatar show on Netflix, I`m kind of interested in that cooler. However I just might buy Avatar sodas separately. Anyway, thanks for another great video John. 👍🏼😃

I love the coolers One of my favorite things besides getting a chase is the loungefly cooler bag I think they’re awesome! If they can afford to put them on sale they should continue to do that However going forward, if they want to sell out in the future they need to LOWER THE PIECE COUNT

Wow, I feel you with the pinched nerve buddy. That sort of thing is not fun, and stress levels cause tension, which will only elevate the pain. 😢 I really like the idea regarding the soda coolers. Your suggestion has amplified the idea I came up with, so I have nothing more to add sadly.

​@Slapshotpops I had a motorcycle accident at 19yrs old which required lower back surgery and years of physio to get me to 75% mobility. I have medication and learned how to move etc to minimise the impact. I understand how nerve pain can affect you day to day life, my sciatic nerve was damaged in the accident and that pain can be crippling. I know you have a busy life, but try to rest as much as you can my friend.

I always grab them on discount .... got a lot of cooler packs sodas for like 30 $. I love them im always gonna pick them up at discount

I don't like Sodas because the price is WAY too high, they don't display that well, and the mold designs aren't as good as modern pops, most are really off-brand and amateur looking. There's some exceptions, I think Sonic, Peanuts, Yogi Bear, Stitch, Jack Skellington, and some other unique character shapes like that do work well, but most of the figures don't live up to the drawing or their full POP counterparts. I also genuinely think the price is so high because it's meant to prey on gambling addition with all of them being chance of chase... If they had no chases, I bet far fewer people would buy them anywhere near retail, it's that chance of getting lucky and profiting that tricks people into being comfortable with spending so much more as a baseline. I buy most of my pops for 3-8 bucks, add a protector for 60 cents, and I think that's really nice value for how they and the boxes look, how they stack and display without any other case and how they can be enjoyed like that without opening them, etc.

Not sure how the price is WAY too high, when most sodas are $15, and some exclusives $18, which is about the same as a Pop. As far as the molds, they aren’t supposed to be better or worse than Pops, they are smaller and designed to fit in a can and look good in their own way as a different translation of the specific character. Perhaps Funko is trying to “prey” on those with gambling addictions however, Pops have chases as well, which people buy multiples of hoping to pull a chase. Card collectors buy dozens of packs hoping to get rare cards. Content creators in lots of different genres buy mystery boxes hoping to pull valuable items. There’s dozens of things that can be considered gambling, yet are low risk and people buy them because they are exciting. Sodas are a different part of the Funko collecting hobby and I think they’re great because they offer that excitement and thrill. Plus, most of them go on sale for $10-$12 nowadays so you can drastically increase your odds of getting a chase for less money. I bet a lot of anime Pops with chases would be worth much, much less if they didn’t have a chase Pop variant. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I think that Sodas are a great collectible that a lot of people are missing out on.

This is something that Funko did to themselves and if they were to do what you say, that would be more fanatics pissed off than there already are... people are gonna rant about why they had to get the whole thing to obtain that one character they wanted... which is the same reason why many people have left the hobby because of Funko making decisions like that... for example those pops that Funko forced people to get along a mystery box with unwanted pops and now they sold the pop individually... this Funko downfall began SDCC 2020 with that Bakugo exclusive. So if Funko doesnt start making smarter decisions, well, its gonna get worse.

I do like your solution. It's hard because I love the idea of the coolers and want more themes, but we just got our first one and there were only a couple chases we wanted. Money wise I'd rather buy that one chase on after market rather than all six for just a chance of that chase. It's a weird one for sure since I love the idea maybe they just need another method of execution.

The bags always look great, I am surprised that doesn’t draw more people to them and yes the ip is a big thing with a high number of 12000 if not all the characters are as popular. I think yours is a viable solution.

Personally, I only causally collection and I’m not a fan of the coolers. For the Peter Pan one, I’m not a big fan of the Peter Pan movie but I am a big fan of Tinkerbell from the Disney fairies movies so I wanted her soda. I wasn’t going to pay 100 but I decided to buy with this sale and will hopefully be able to get rid of the rest of them! Definitely agree with your plan tho because also I feel like even at a discounted price people might not want all because they simply don’t have the space

Need broader appeal in soda cooler themes. Make Disney, Funko, Marvel, etc. themed coolers. A Nickelodeon cooler comes to mind. Folks can mix and match sodas from a number of shows/properties. One cooler but not limited to one show or franchise.

A pinch nerve is never good. I live with CRPS so I understand. Take it easy and doing some lego gets your mind off of it and it slowly moves it back. Good luck with everything and take it slow.

Does Funko only sell coolers in North America? sounds like they are missing a huge fan base if they dont sell to other country's direct. They are made in china and have distribution overseas

As far as I know, they do sell them over in Australia, but it’s extremely expensive for the collectors to buy. They’re mainly sold here in North America. They should give more opportunities to collectors overseas to get them. Great point 😁

On coolers. For me 100 on one item is budget killer. Yea on sale thought about but still what else I can get with my money on sale. Of all those sale ones Peanuts would be the one but really only for Linus.. Do not get me wrong I have a cabinet full of sodas My only cooler is Scooby-Doo.. The choice of coolers out there just not up my alley. What hurts Funko was ramming to many soda out. Collectors could not keep up. Then the unnumbered sodas just killed the fun... Then with sale after sale no more rush to buy sodas or most shop items right off at full price.. I am a huge MCU fan not so much Xmen characters. A cooler say original Avengers movie of Hulk,Thor,Cap,Ironman with chase of each. Then Hawkeye and Black Widow with there chases being Fury and Agent Colson.. I buy that right off.. O r a good thought out Star Wars cooler..boom take my money.. I hope sodas keep going. Funko just got do it right. Have great day..

I agree and I think you hit it on the head. Collectors know when you buy a cooler your guaranteed a Chase but your also guaranteed 5 commons. I think people would rather have a chance at no chases then knowing your absolutely getting 5 commons.

Sodas are trash, once they came out with non piece counted sodas they started going downhill funko in general isn't what it used to be I don't ever think funko will die but they will never be what they once were

@@Slapshotpops to clarify, I may have over exaggerated it but I was once you and loved sodas and was a completionist I think them not doing piece counted sodas ruined it for me personally I get other people still love them but with a lot of sodas value isn't there anymore most of the time unless you have the platform that you do, it's hard to get even close to what a soda is worth, it just became a bad investment for me that's all, I do enjoy all your whatnot auctions and KZread though I think you and Joana are amazing in the community 😊

I’m a fan of the X-Men Cooler! Bought 3 of them during the recent sale at $30 each and got Storm, Cyclops, and Wolverine as chases. The coolers will make for a fun, nice lunch bag ☺️.
