I'm an old guy who's been listening to piano jazz since I was 15. And now, 55 years later, I can say .... this is about as good as it gets. Yohan is a special player.

Agreed! He hits that jazz sweet spot for people our age. He has enough material to put out a CD. Not sure why he has not.

@@whitestealthable Probably because big record labels rip off artists and take a lot of their hard earned money. Recording and publishing an album is pretty expensive ans requires a lot of logistics and time which artists don't have time for. That's when you go to a record label which will probably try to own you and your work. Hope this answet is helpful :D

I totally agree with you. I’ve watched this video about 50 times already but am still amazed every time.

This guy is such a rare talent. His dexterity plus his ear make him incredibly unique in the world of jazz. Way to go Johan. Love it.

This guy is too much of a good thing. I, myself, had decades ago imagined of improvising on the piano to New Wave music but had never got around to it although it'd been in the back of my mind, plus I knew it would be a big time consuming technical hurdle, but here Yohan, this incredible youngster, was able to bring his ideas onto the keyboard with no sweat, and I understand he does it just by ear, just boggles my mind.

You were good as a kid. It's amazing watching you grow into the fine musician that you are today.

I’ve been watching a channel that goes over various pianos. They have never looked over a kawai but I think they should. It may not match up with a Steinway but I do love the sound it gives for this type of music.
