    Amazing how ignorant people are of firearm laws judging by the comments. Its 100% legal to manufacture an unserialized firearm for personal use. The 10/22 meets federal lengths with its stock, taking a stock off a rifle does not automatically make it a handgun, and the gat trigger is 100% legal because for a gun to be considered full auto more than 1 round has to be fire with one pull of the trigger. Damn people at least be knowledgeable about the laws that govern your own country.

    Rick Deckard Unfortunately "Sorry your honor, I didn't know it was illegal." isn't a defense in court. So yes there are tons of gun laws, they change from state to state and from city to city. However the Federal ones apply to all 50 states and every single city. So if you're going to own a gun, you should take the time to learn the general ones even if you don't learn the local ones. For the people who are commenting who don't own a gun, then simply STFU about what you know nothing about. I know nothing about brain surgery therefore I would never comment on a video or anything else dealing with the subject matter.

    Bryan Smith Ironically the tin can only matters if there's any money for politicians to make over it. A great example being that little shit in CA that stabbed a few people to death before he shot a few. The only uproar was gun control, not knife control. There's money to be made over gun control but not knife control even though both are deadly and too numerous to ever actually ban.

    I guess that cant happen because a .50 Cal BMG has a lot of recoil and if you manage to atleast make a gatling gun that shoots these bullets,You would need a stand to hold it like in choppers or in the ground because the recoil would make you fall to the ground and it would be heavy..... Not great of a combonation, But and a Awesome! idea nonetheless

    Actually the .22 is a deadly round. Granted you'd have to be at a max range of a little over a hundred yards or less, you could actually kill some one with it. Not that you'd want to actually use it though. Most people choose a bullet with a bit more stopping power, or obvious reasons.

    Hawkeye Survival I have heard that more people have died from .22 caliber rounds than any other ammunition, but it definitely is tiny by comparison to everything else, which is why my concealed carry pistol is a 9 mm; not too small, but not too big. And to be clear, though, I am not hating on your Gatling gun at all. In fact, it is pretty awesome! :D I don't think I can build something like that, even though I am in college for engineering right now (it's electrical engineering, so not much help there,lol).

    Jeremiah Tallant Not nearly as much as World War I, II, and all the recent modern wars, which were all fought with accurate modern weapons that fired more than one shot each load. In fact, most of the kills during the time of ball-and-powder weapons were by bayonet, cannon or saber, as the guns themselves were horrendously unreliable, cumbersome and inaccurate. Today, .22 caliber rounds are the most commonly used aside from 9mm, since it is less and less about the size of the bullet and more about accuracy and how the actual weapon and round are designed. Ever since modern weapons have come along, smaller bullets have been made deadlier than they used to be. A .22 hollow point is as deadly as a 9mm without the hollow point.

    IIRC, there's a limit to how many guns you made that you can keep at any one time. However, I cannot see how this isn't classified as a class 3 full auto gun. I would think the continuous rotating wheel on the right would classify as a single action thus making this FA and illegal with it being made after 1986. A semi auto only shoots one round per action, otherwise known as a trigger pull. I'm not a lawyer, but that's how I interpret the laws.

  • @ShirudoSystems

    @ShirudoSystems

    92HondaEX It uses a BATFE approved "gat trigger". A separate manual action is required per shot actuating the trigger pulls. So each shot requires me to manually move the wheel 1/16" or whatever so it is classified as semi auto.

    Hi Alex. I'm Richard's wife. He would have been so thoroughly impressed with this. This is absolutely incredible. It's beautiful and you are truly talented.

  • @ShirudoSystems

    @ShirudoSystems

    GypsyGlyph Thank you very much for the compliments. I actually dedicated this to Richard, because seeing some of his creations is what got me interested in the whole steampunk genre when I was 18 or 19. Its funny you mention his work with Mosins. I was looking online through forums looking at custom Mosin Nagants and came across something from him where he was building an extended magazine for one. I then looked further into what he had done with other projects and saw how he had a passion for building the intricate steampunk machines, but also liked modifying functional firearms as well. The first steampunk gun I built was a modified Mosin Nagant that I started building right after reading about Richard's work with Mosins. After there was interest in that one, I built this Gatling gun. I can go back to the exact moment when I was inspired to start doing this and it was when I was reading his posts about making an extended Mosin magazine. So he literally was my direct inspiration for all of this. Again, I appreciate the message and kind words. I am so sorry for your loss and hope you find comfort in knowing that Richard and his work have and continue to amaze and inspire people all over the world.

If only full autos were legal...any .22LR with that 174-177(can't recall 100%) or 275 round drum would just slaughter anything else in it's class. sure it doesn't have the power of...say a 9mm or .45, but the jackhammer effect of 1200-1500 rpm and the .22's small diameter tends to make even the meanest of armor buckle eventually. It also works for spelling your name in concrete or making hysterical, avant-garde wood carvings. And people think guns only kill things :>

I just say "AK47" since if I say "AKM/C39v2/Mak90/WASR/etc." most people have no idea what you're talking about. But yes, I have a few semi auto AKM's lol

    Alex Smyth I know it was a different time when the us constitution was written, but I think if the politicians are doing everything to work against it why not change it instead of lying? I'm all for your second amendment and think the politicians are wrong, but I also hate lying. ^^

  • @stripeynu

    @stripeynu

    10 жыл бұрын

    Alex Smyth Which would be true, if you were a supreme court justice. There are literally seven people in the world whose opinions on what the second amendment means actually matters. You're not one of them. Also, more laws have been passed easing firearm restrictions in the last decade than have been passed restricting them. The "gun grabbin' gubment" meme is an industry creation to keep gun owners buying more and more weapons, because while there are more firearms purchased in the 21st century, the number of firearm owners is actually declining.

    Very cool man. Very very cool. I have recently become quite interested in the steampunk style, and a few weekends ago a couple friends took me to a firing range, where I fired a few guns for the first time at some paper targets. It was really good sport and I'm considering purchasing a rifle that uses .22 ammo. What I would LOVE to see is a step-by-step video on how you crafted this sweet piece of machinery. Looks like a very fun project to spend time on.

  • @ShirudoSystems

    @ShirudoSystems

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Colebug99 It was mostly to do with the electronically run barrels and reiterating that it doesn't have an electronic trigger bc that would make it a machine gun. Just overall covering all the bases to explain that it's perfectly legal since its posted publicly on youtube. I'm sure the ATF etc. has seen this video at least once lol.

    +Alex Smyth If he had just dumped the motor and used the crank to spin the barrels and fire them it would all be legal. The ATF has consistently stated that a hand driven Gatling gun is not a fully automatic firearm since it requires constant input (the crank) by the person handling it.
