Had some fun in snow with my 2009 Volvo XC70 T6 69,000Km or 43,000Mi
Had DSTC on and off when climbing the small hill. The point was to have little momentum to climb it.

When i first bought my 99 volvo v70xc awd it has 160,xxx miles on it and it was in great shape and drifted through snow like a king had never driven anything all wheel drive that wasent 4x4 like a truck and i had so much control of the car i was able to effortlessly drift around light poles in a parking lot covered in a sheet of ice. It was amazing, about 2.5 years later at 175,xxx miles i have so much going wrong with the car, ive had to remove the center drive line completely due to a nonexistent carrier bearing and have yet to fix it so winter driving now is just boring and terrible, my heater fan just went out so no heat. I have two check engine codes and my transmission is acting up, its such a well built machine and i hope i can keep it running for a long time

Happy Shitty Haldex. Mine is just crashed down, in the middle of the winter. Not so funny when in the last 10 years had AWD cars... 500€ just the haldex oil pump :(

Can't believe Volvo stopped making this model. I tried driving the XC60, and it is top-heavy, and rolls like you're in a boat. The XC70 is lower C.O.M., and much better driving experience.

Agreed! I dread the day I'll have to give up this car haha...Maybe the new V90 would be the XC70 successor? Didn't drive it but it looks nice and comfy I think although it doesn't exactly have the XC70 "identity" in my opinion...It also looks like it has lower ground clearance which I'm not too keen of...

I was well pleased when you demonstrated the mesh covers for the rear windows . I did actually get some Velcro to help secure ,the plastic clips were a bit suspect . But Im very happy with them .Keep up the good work .

Hey what is maintaincance with Volvo xc70, 2wd manual 165hp. Im planing on getting 2014/15 model. Is maintainance comparable more with v60/ VW Passat, or is it more like XC90? Had nothing but problems with turbine, awd and automatic transmision on my 2006 XC90. Sadly i had to sell it and now im geting manual 2wd volvo. XC70 looks perfect to me! Always Volvo! Hope you enjoying yours?

Just fyi, When starting out, Volvo recommends starting in 3rd gear to limit wheel-slip, i believe- ✌

Happy Holidays. love the videos. I own a v70 R design 2010. with 50,000 on clock very well kept car. Apart from the sunroof that has stuck in tilt/ open position. would love to do some of your upgrades like tail lights and auto tail lift - close not sure if they will work on my v70 as no button on tail. Keep the vlogs coming.

You don’t have the power open tailgate? Mine has this and it’s R design, 18’’ wheels, R design stamped on the leather seats, boot spoiler, sliver roof rails and mirrors, more im missing. Mine is 2011 with 117k but it was very cheap.
An american with winter tires.. that's a first! Studded tires without studds (?!) is way worse than stud-free winter tires.. Great car and great licence plate!

not rly, studless wintertires nowadays are great snowtires... and the need for studs is rare, also they are so much noisier than studless tires

The problem is that it's now blocked by a pile of snow from the plowers. But I guess you can break it using your Outback ;)

Great video and I love Volvos! But, think I'll keep my Land Rover LR3 for the snow. Was just thinking of getting an XC70, my LR3 gets around easier in the white powder.

hi, the p2 xc70 is on my radar, an im using a fwd car now. im using handbrake so much in snow/ice, not just fun, especially with reverse gear and skid the front wherever i want. its possible with haldex (p2 has manual handbrake)? i read a documant about vw haldex systems, says that whenever pull the handbrake haldex will be off (fwd mode), so i think its possible, in volvo is that same?

Got a question i tried too goole a couple times. I got a volvo v70 2.4d 2010 and i need to change my fuel pump in the tank. Is it under the back seats or do i need to lower the tank down?

After haldex unit clutch engages it should be the same as audi quattro, all 4 tires getting power. And hdex engages at 1/15 wheel turn theoretically. After that it's all about tire and tire size. Would see a quattro drive on same tire with same size on a car with similar dimension (weight, and wheelbase). Bet the results would be similar.
I am kind of surprised it had such a big problem to get up there. Looks Like there was a slippery terrain though. '06 XC90 always got me where I needed. 353k km on the clock right now. This would be kind of a letdown... Btw I'm just curious. There are many people complaining about 3.0 T6 that it consumes a lot of oil. What about yours?

It was slippery under snow. We had rain the other day. No oil consumption whatsoever on my 3.0 T6.
