Your kind encouraging words help others and being down to earth is such a great bonus. It is seldom on KZread in the watercolor artist genre I find. Hello. A completely different take on an actual sardine, but check out "sardinhas Santos Populares" it's a Portuguese tradition where sardines are painted in very unique ways.

This was a fun video. I like that you are experimenting with different approaches. Flowers and landscapes are awesome, but it's also nice to see other ideas too. I'm happy to watch and learn whatever you choose to share. 🙂

I ❤ this! I’m always looking for quick, cute little sketches that are floral. Don’t get me wrong, I love a vase of flowers as much as the next girl, but I need to occasionally switch it up

Hi, I have three kids and I found the best way to entertain them when it's cold is to pack up half their toys in a box and after a few days swap those toys with the ones that are out. Then it's like they have brand new toys for a few days. Lincoln logs, Thomas trains, blocks, anything that can be expanded and changed countless times helps their little imaginations run wild! And keeps you sane! Hope this helps! ❤ the sardine!

Absolutely love this! I’ve been painting for a couple of years now and am searching for my own style. I love watercolor, illustration, ink and wash, so many things and mixed media tutorials like these are really helpful in getting to combine this and that to see what I like. I’m also excited about the project you are working on since you mentioned prompts. I’ve read many times that a good way to find your own style is to get away from following tutorials and to use them as prompts and/or the world around you for inspiration and just wing it! Thanks Shayda, for another great tutorial! Oh, also, did you mention what sketchbook you’re working in?

I love this video!

I would like to see a painting with many smallish tropical fish. Something with several different colors and shapes all over the body of the fish. I haven’t mastered successful layering that maintains all the varied vibrant colors that tropical fish typically have. I’d love to get some help with that. The sardine was a great start!

Love the change of subject, and the randomness of it… who would’ve thought that Shayda would tackle sardines! My kids said my attempt looked more like a whale though as opposed to a sardine. At least they identified it as a sea creature!😂
