The entire crew including Aishwarya Rai during her visit to Chennai looked so humble and worked as a family to deliver us this masterpiece. Perfect casting by MANI SIR 👏👏

I think female casting could have been different. Samantha for Poonguzhali, Tamanna for Vanathy, Ramya Pandian for Nandini friend. Indeed it was a bit annoying to see artists who do not have the depth in the language. they have done their part but for such a historic movie, would have been done with artists who are well versed in the language. Music didn't feel belonging to that period.

@@swatantrika8893 Lol, you talk about artists and language depth but then mention Tamannah and Samantha in the same sentence as if they're well-versed in classical Tamil. Also, regarding the music, the score was great and felt appropriate and for the songs, ARR said that we wanted to make it more classical with Carnatic touch. Still, Mani Ratnam wanted it to be a bit contemporary so the current generation audience who will be the majority will enjoy it.

@@Navin4061 vanathy was just coming for dance and not much dialogues. I didn’t mention they need to speak classical language and Samantha would have been perfect. It’s my view and btw, no disrespect to Mani or ARR. in fact I enjoyed the movie just for bringing the characters live in front of my eyes. I didn’t like the way ARR sang with style for this movie - this is not that kind of movie. Of course it’s good music and everything but we should be bringing out the authenticity and not compromise for this generation and pan India revenue purposes. It’s my humble opinion as a hard core fan

I guess Sai Pallavi would be the perfect actress for Vanathi character not because of language am saying. I feel basically she has face which will carry all expressions especially an expression of fear or sadness. The way she emoted is extraordinary and this girl doesn't have a face which will carry fear for the character of vanathi but Pallavi has that kind of face. Samudra Kumari character done by that girl was nice and she nailed it
