ISMASHYOUBRO Urobuchi is bottom barrel top tier if that makes sense. He's so basic with philosophy, bland with characters (which are extremely representative of one aspect,) and has exposition up the wazoo. Not a good writer in my opinion. If you think so, I don't really care. Obviously we have different opinions on what makes good writing.

Here's how they'd do the Nina Tucker plot: Nina and Alexander's friendship was so strong, it unleashed friendship magic that made them become one! Shou throws a party, and Ed punches the piñata (NOT Shou) because he's never had a piñata before and doesn't know what to do with it. After the party, Scott (NOT Scar) arrives to prank the two State Magicians, by using his friendship magic to cover their faces in splattered tomato. But he sees how happy Shou and his daughter-dog are, so he uses his friendship magic to give them delicious strawberry syrup instead. If the syrup doesn't give you diabe- Shadow Realm-itis, the plot will!

Friends Forever #14's plot is this. etc. Violence- Twilight vs Tirek, Every single time someone hits each other(like when rarity hit twilight with her own ass in Sonic Rainboom) etc. on screen death- King Sombra gets exploded into like a hundred pieces at the end of the crystal empire, and you see tiny bits of his dead body flying across the screen right after that. I think the best way to build criteria for how a 4Kids show distorts material is by comparing a daytime airing of a 4Kids episode to a daytime Toonami airing back in the 2000s. Given there are guides online that point to such (and even for 2010s Toonami or Nicktoons, where DBZ Kai has been censored quite a bit), you can really verify the extent of the fuckery. Much as 4Kids has lost its’ sting since the lawsuit incident, it’s still safe to say we must remember it and gatekeep to avoid such possibility of a similar organization ever existing. Like, you can actually see that for example voice actors in their dubs were actually respected VAs, from Marc Diraison (Zorro) voicing Guts of Berserk fame and Tokiomi Tohsaka to Sean Schemmel himself. I do despise 4Kids, but trust me: it was MUCH worse when they were actually a thing. I can name the shows I do respect for getting me into anime (Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh!, the latter of which I’ll still watch) and the shows I think they RUINED (Shaman King). Needless to say, this video is funny.
