Full Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Bootloader Unlock Tutorial
This is the new smartphone from Xiaomi, the Redmi Note 10, and in today's tutorial, I show you how to officially unlock the bootloader.

I wanted to get this tutorial out at the end of last month but received a "can't unlock bootloader this month" type error in the Mi Unlock tool. I'm guessing this was because I had already unlocked multiple Redmi smartphones last month and they have a limit.
Either way, today we can begin the process by making sure you have all of the requirements. This includes a Xiaomi Mi account, a SIM card with a mobile data connection, and the Mi Unlock tool mentioned above.
Let's enable Developer Mode so that we can toggle the OEM Unlocking toggle to the on position. This is a security measure to prevent thieves from stealing the phone and unlocking it themselves.
Now we can add your Xiaomi Mi account to the Redmi Note 10 Pro from within the Settings as instructed. Be sure to enable both the "sync" as well as the "find my device" options when prompted (we can disable them after the bootloader is unlocked).
If you haven't done so already, go ahead and insert your SIM card into the phone too. Now Disable your WiFi connection and go back into the Settings app so you can go back into the hidden Developer Options menu.
In there, you'll find an option called "Mi Unlock Status" that gives you details on your bootloader status. You'll also be prompted to grant phone permissions here so go ahead and agree to this as well.
At the bottom of the screen, you should see an "Add Account" button. Tapping this will associate your Xiaomi Mi account with the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max. This is required in order to complete Xiaomi's official bootloader unlock process.
Pay attention to the toast messages (you should get two of them) that appear at the bottom of the screen when you press this button.
The first message tells you that it's attempting to connect the account to the hardware. The second message will either tell you it will through successfully or the attempt had failed.
The failed message is common for my network while I have the Pihole active (as shown in the video). So if you get a failed message find out why (could be a connection issue, maybe you forgot to add your Mi account to the phone, etc) and then try again until you get a success message.
Once we get that success message we then need to boot the Redmi Note 10 into Fastboot Mode so we can actually unlock the bootloader. See, what we have done so far is simply tied our account to the phone and that's just part one of what we need to do.
Now we need to connect the phone to the PC with a USB cable (once you see the Fastboot screen) and then open up the Mi Unlock program on the computer. And yes, a computer is required here.
Click the bit Unlock button at the bottom and confirm your action at the two pop-up dialog boxes. It will then attempt to unlock the bootloader for you.

Full Tutorial

3. Go into the new Developer Options menu
4. Then enable the OEM Unlocking toggle [02:33]
5. Add your Xiaomi Mi account [03:18]
6. Insert your SIM card
7. Disable WiFi
8. Go back into the Developer Options Menu
9. Then tap the "Mi Unlock Status" option [03:52]
10. Agree to the Permission request
11. Tap the "Add Account and Device" button at the bottom [04:37]
12. Make sure you get a "success" toast message at the bottom [05:32]
13. Boot the Redmi Note 10 into Fastboot Mode [06:01]
14. And connect it to the PC with a USB cable
15. Open the Xiaomi Mi Unlock tool on the PC [06:30]
16. Click the Agree button at the bottom
17. And then log into the same Mi account as before
18. When ready, click the "Unlock" button at the bottom [07:35]
19. And confirm this is what you want to do (twice)
20. Wait for the Mi Unlock tool to send the initial request to Xiaomi's servers [08:32]
21. And make note of how many hours you'll have to wait (if you have to wait at all)
22. You can force the phone to reboot here [10:08]

was there anything that can help unlock bootloader without going to developer settings? my phone is not booting to the system and going to MIUI recovery mode when turning on. I hope there is some way that is not too complicated
Can I remove the sim from the phone before the finish of 168 hours?
Will this allow a phone that's locked to specific to become SIM free and be used with any network ?
5:48 you dont need to press the Buttons power and volume up you can just do adb reboot bootloader

that is true, but you'd need to have usb debugging mode enabled first
I have been trying this method since 2 months but it always shows the waiting time of 168 hours againa and again every week. Pls can you tell any mistake which could be done by me to rectify.

the unlock miui download doesnt look the same?
Does anyone know what Xiaomi's limit is per month? I'm thinking two per month is their max, but I'm curious if anyone has heard something official from them about it

They really offer great value for the money. I generally keep One UI on my Samsung devices but with the Redmi phones, dev support is almost always great and it usually lets you try out a bunch of custom ROMs/kernels/etc without fear of hard bricking a phone

@@autogreen2k519 I've got the 4a, it's a great little phone. Reminds me a lot of the Nexus 5 (size, weight) and will have one of the best cameras out of the box (no need for google cam ports)
Does it automatically unlock after 168 hours or do we need to repeat the process after 168 hours?

you will need to repeat the second half (which is opening up mi unlock, booting into fastboot mode, and pressing the unlock button)
I did all steps, I enabled OEM, USB debugging, I synced and I turned on find my device, and I added my account and device but when I go to the tool it tells me "Please add your account in MIUI's settings > developer options > Mi Unlock Status. Even If I have done that

So after wait 8 days... I should connect the redmi note 10 again to the computer?? I dont uinderstand exactly what we have to do after wait 8 days....

if it's not the usb driver, then it is likely the USB cable or USB port. try another port. try another cable. maybe try another computer entirely

I'll take a look at the Xiaomi download link. It's possible they updated the software (I want to say the mi flash tool recently received a refreshed UI) I need to create a bootloader unlock tutorial for my POCO X3 phone soon. If I'm getting the new version too, I'll be sure to use it in that video (it'll work the same across devices)

because Xiaomi updated it recently. My redmi note 11 has the same thing (check my fastboot tutorial for it)
It's stucks at 99% for hours and hours any solution?
Mi Unlock just says "Not connected to phone" despite everything I try....

make sure to install the proper "usb adb drivers" for xiaomi. and you can try another USB cable, or another USB port (sometimes an entire different computer fixes it)
Damn Mi unlock making me add a phone number mid-process... The phone is currently on fast-boot...

@@ExplainingAndroid I guess it just never prompted me to add one until I was trying to unlock it. Either way, it asks for me to verify by phone whenever I use the unlock tool which makes thing difficult.
can i turn off data and use only wifi when waiting ??

yea, Xiaomi has changed the way we can unlock the bootloader now. and now requires us to have an account with their community forum (and have it achieve a high level of activity)

I'm convinced I can't unlock the bootloader on my Note 10 Snapdragon USA version. BEEN 3 DAYS and found literally no solution online other than paying someone $100..

I re-tried multiple times but the Mi unlock canʼt unlock my redmi note 10 pro (code name=sweet)... I tried to look on some other tutorials but I couldnʼt find anything that helps... Any ideas...?
