@@RoulaTravels For what it's worth: If you want a more "lively" pool atmosphere at Barcelo Maya Grand Resort, use the pool in the Caribe area of the resort complex. If you're at the Colonial & facing the beach, it's to the right...just past Captain Morgan Restaurant. Barcelo provides a varied atmosphere at each of their hotel pools. The Caribe Hotel Pool has music, water aerobics & more of a party vibe. Where-as, the swimming pools at Colonial & Tropical Hotels provide a somewhat peaceful, family-oriented atmosphere for resort guests. Best regards, Ben

I think you mean catamarans. Beautiful video by the way, thinking of going later in the year. Which side would you recommend for seniors the Colonial or the Tropical, we were thinking the Tropical but really do not know.

To be honest either side I think would be fine but there is NO ELEVATORS in the buildings so make sure you request a room on first floor for seniors (given if stairs is an issue)

If you have young kids go Colonial but just adults tropical hands down

Thank you for the video. Isn’t it difficult to make reservations for restaurants? Is it worth staying Palace rather than Colonial or not much difference?

You're welcome :) There is not much difference between the two, and reservations call before you arrive

What’s exactly included in the all inclusive? It seems like there’s so much extra costs.. how many restaurants at the resort? And can we eat at all the resorts fine dining?(besides palace & riviera). What were the shows like? And is there free wifi in the room? Also is there a theatre somewhere on the resort for watching movies? I seen the picture on it when I booked

Going in 2 days. Question. Do people put towels on chairs by the pools and then leave? (Go eat) and then come back later? Also what is to stop someone from just removing towels and say there never was towels to begin with?

@@RoulaTravels typing this as I sit by the pool here at Barcelo Maya. First off. Watching videos like yours really helps navigate things. If you want a lounge chair under cover where the hammocks are then you should get there early. I was there at 9 and I had a great selection. I also noticed spots on the beach taken. Especially ones under the trees. I went and booked restaurants and ate. I came back to the pool at 11:30. All the ones under cover were taken but there was still a generous selection one lounge chairs in the open. Please note, I am here late April so this may be different at different times of the year.

If you want to party your head off than this place is not for you it is a beautiful resort. If you want to party your head off than Cancun is the place to go.

Yes very true, this is a more relaxed resort although it does have some night life and playa del carmen center is only 25 minutes away

I've lived in Mexico and the tropics for years but I'm clueless 😂 My only complaint was they obstructed the beautiful site lines of the resort which they ABSOLUTELY could've made the palapas shorter. So anyway. Thanks for the comment 👍

No. I'm not. Nor will I allow you to label me as such. The function of every palapa is to cover from rain and give shade. If you were ACTUALLY there you would see it hangs way beyond the needed amount to provide for both. Have a great day though!
