    My sister raised her children in a low economical area as a single mom. Her son received the highest score SATs and became a medical scientist. Her daughter is an engineer. Parents are responsible for guiding their children, not the government.

  • @knxcholx

    @knxcholx

    Жыл бұрын

    At a certain point, it becomes that child's responsibility of guiding their own life. Yes. Up until a certain point it is definitely a parents responsibility. But, a lot of people go wrong with this. For example, you'll have grown adults at 18 years old make a decision to do something. And based on whether or not that decision is viewed as good or bad, we'll assign a reason behind why they chose that decision. And a lot of people will end up saying things along the lines of "their parents failed them" or "their parents raised them right". When, in reality, at a certain point, people make decisions regardless of however they were raised. That's why you see a lot of kids who grow up in church leave from it. Because they make their own decisions about what they wanna do when they get to a certain age. Some people grow up in terrible households, where they've had no guidance whatsoever. Yet they end up being productive members of society. And the opposite happens just as often

We need to stop been puppies for the media and actually fight for this country as a whole.

    I don’t know how well Ben would actually do as a president, because he is more knowledgeable about commentary on politics than actually the nitty gritty of what the president actually has to do, especially to do with international relations. In fact it’s for these very reasons I don’t think he will run because he recognizes he has shortcomings that he himself would prefer a president to have, so it’s just not fair for a someone to run for president when they wouldn’t vote for themself.

I think his foreign policy outlooks are fantastic and he obviously knows the jurisdiction of what a president is and isn’t able to do with it. It’s just more so the matter that he is content with his current status I’m pretty sure.

    can you be my sugar momma? sorry, the question was begging to be asked, i'm just kidding i don't need a sugar momma (although a really rich one would be pretty cool and i wouldn't be opposed to it!) but i don't need one exactly because of what you said - when i was 21 i was addicted to opioids, i was broke, i used up the little credit i had for drugs and never paid it off so i was in a few grand of debt that i wasn't paying anything on, my credit score was shot, i lost my job for being an idiot and had no income, on top of that i had a drug habit that cost $150 a day that went down to $50 to 100 a day only because i used everything up and did not have $150 a day any more so it cost everything i could come up with (family helped pay because they saw how sick i was without the drugs and because i played up the pain that doctors originally prescribed the pain killers for (the pain that went away two years earlier but that i kept complaining about to have something to blame my continued drug abuse on.) no income, drug addicted, penniless and in debt, irresponsible, and a coward... now i'm 30 years old and i'm still exactly like i was at 21 years old, i'm just an older scumbag. just kidding, i'm now 30 and have been clean and sober since i was 24 years old and almost have 6 years of continuous sobriety. i have a good job, paid off my debts just over 3 years ago, started investing a little bit every week, i can buy my mom nice things often even on my $55k a year take home salary that is only possible because i work very hard and am responsible and dependable. my parents are proud of me but most importantly i'm proud of myself. a lot of the people i grew up with who i used to do drugs with are either still drug addicted, dead, and/or in and out of jail. my best friend in the world of 25 years is also clean (he got clean a coupe of years before me and only stuck around because he knew i was the type who would work hard to better myself and ended up doing so.) the difference between the two of us and the rest of the people i grew up with who are still in that life is simple - we were raised with a sense of responsibility and right and wrong and knew what we were doing was wrong, we took responsibility for our actions and took the difficult steps to face reality and fix what we broke while the others blamed everything and everyone but themselves - they blamed society, their parents (who were all great people and gave them everything they needed growing up, making sacrifices so they could have things they did not themselves, just like my parents did,) they blamed their drug dealers, they blamed politicians (they voted democrat just like everyone else who fails to take responsibility for themselves and looks to government to fix their problems and can't think critically) and the proof is in the pudding - my best friend and i have great jobs and are doing very well for ourselves and are currently making more money and benefits and have far better career outlooks than even those from my graduating class who went to college and got degrees. to everyone who works hard to improve their situation my hat is off to you, it seems we're a shrinking portion of the population in this country these days as time goes on and it 's very sad to see. maybe it's because my best friend and i did wrestling growing up and had a great coach who never lied to us so we never grew up with this false idea that everyone is a winner no matter what you do and that you have to work very hard for anything you want in life and nobody is special, the only difference between someone who does well at something and someone who fails miserably is almost always the amount of work they put into it and the amount of responsibility they're willing to take for their own success.

After talking with her about her pregnancy she told us she was planning to abort her baby. It took some time explaining how we viewed the topic of abortion and her situation. We gave her a job on our farm feeding and watering our cows, goats, chickens and ducks and even our dogs if we were out of town. After 3 months we actually let her move into our RV and by 6 months we decided that she could stay in our fully finished basement with all appliances. The time came where she was near time to to deliver her baby and the most amazing thing happened. We had already told her about us thinking about adopting a baby at this point. She said that she would love to have us adopt her baby and we were just overjoyed. My son is now 2 years old and he’s happy and healthy and his birth mother is now employed and no longer living in our basement but rather in her own apartment. My wife and I are both white Americans and the birth mother is mixed race black and white and the father is black as well. I have to say that my son is the best thing that ever happened to us. Life is amazing and should be cherished and celebrated. I can’t imagine my life without him here

    @@back_to_the_couch What the fuck kind of response is that? That's so unbelievably rude and also extremely racist, you're not only referring to this person as "your people" but you're also dictating what this individual should be doing with their time. The last I checked, social platforms such as this and Facebook were created on the goal to facilitate more discourse, but in a faster and more accessible way using the internet. How about you let them decide if they're going to prioritize the supposed issues you stated, which by the way may very well be true seeing that I don't even know who you're referring to when you said "your people" in the comment. I don't know about you, but I can't tell the specific country from which this person originates based on their profile picture or their channel name. I'm assuming you went onto their channel to find out what race they were, then came back here and tried to push your agenda on them. And to you @Elliott Park I would say, as an aspiring American I wish you the best of luck and I'm happy to see foreign people taking an interest in American politics.

    Hey Elliot Park . Thank you for wanting to be part of this great experiment known as the United States. Yeah that one comment was rude but we got to have a thick skin because free speech can be offensive. We can't have meaningful discussions or debates if when someone is offended it gets shut down. The reason there is an amendment protecting free speech is because not everyone will agree with what everyone is saying. If we all agreed on everything said we would not need a free speech amendment. Seriously why would we need a free speech amendment if there was no dissenting opinions? I feel you're wanting to come here legally because you said you want to become an American. I think you are sending a positive message that you want to have freedoms that you either don't have or never will have in your country. I think it takes a lot to leave your native country. The desire to be free I would think is an extremely strong draw to go where you can obtain the freedom for you and your family to thrive.

    I didn't really agree with that. I'd think it'd be limited how smart a person could actually be, if they built up an entire world view on foundational principles, that are either proven to be bad/wrong or are logical fallacies. Obviously even smart people start from a wrong place here and there, otherwise how would they find out if it was wrong or not? But I don't see how a smart person could get to the POINT of having built up a whole ideology, without ever having evaluated the principles it's based on. On top of that, I'd also think a smart person would have their premises on things that they KNEW to be true, not things they WANTED to be true. In order to "reason your way" into things in the context Ben put it, you would have to start with a conclusion and search for facts and reasonings to fit the conclusion, rather than the other way around, so... what kind of "smart" would this hypothetical person be...? Certainly not logically intelligent, surely.

    I'm American of Mexican descent. I'm fourth generation American born on my mother's side and second generation born on my father's side. My grandparents were church ministers for many years, my father is a church minister and I now have a master's in Biblical studies and theology. The first generations to come were all hard workers and instilled this into my parents. My siblings and I were given the tools we needed to navigate through life. We were taught morals, manners and the importance of the family unit and education. I love America and I love God. My father has always instructed us to love God, and our neighbors as ourselves. He also always taught us to love this great country. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. God bless this great country.

    I really hate to think where our young people would be without people like Shapiro visiting our campuses. I was so out of touch of what’s going on at colleges around the country. I was angry, disappointed and confused why my boys flat out refused to go to college after high school. It wasn’t until my oldest gave me his reasons did I start to investigate and I’m blown away. They don’t want to be forced taking courses that is designed to indoctrinate them into an ideal Olof y they don’t agree with and more importantly has anything to do with their career choice they wish to Perdue. Not the world I grew up in. Way worse..this is the generation who is to protect us? If there ever comes a day an invading force comes, the surprise they will encounter…

    Can there please be a rule at speech/Q&A's like this: if you are asking a question, you get like 10 seconds to formulate the question. We don't need your entire backstory nor your personal feelings on it; you are asking the speaker what their perspective is and the room will either agree or disagree. Let more people ask more questions. Paragraphed grandstanding doesn't allow for more questions. Case in point: guy at 1:15:50

    I tend to agree. One thing that would help is for people intending to ask a question is to practice asking the question at home first with mock audience of at least one other person (or failing that just asking it to themselves in the mirror!). That way they'd get the sense of whether their question is rambling on too long and can get some helpful feedback with regards to how to correct it.

    Why the 'rule', Markus? Because I believe that over 100K people were streaming into that speech, and most like myself enjoy the Q&A. But if the Q&A could have more questions by stopping a bloviating jackass from taking up 3 minutes of the Q&A telling everyone their life story, then yes there should be a rule. I'm not saying sensor questions; I'm saying get to the fucking question quickly so more questions may be asked. If that Q&A had 15 questions asked, and you take out everyone either grandstanding or not accepting the answer and feeling as though arguing about it will help, I would be you could double your questions.

    Greetings from the U.S. , Tennessee btw. The comment someone made about the brown shirts, was so out of line. There was a shitload of German citizens who did not agree with the direction Hitler was taking their country. Some tried to stop him but most didn't have the power to do anything about it. I think it's safe to say that you didn't have anything to do with the extermination of 6 million Ben Shapiro's lol. In this country one might conclude as a result of 30 million abortions to date, how many Nobel Prize winners, Tech genius inventors, would be talented doctors, and scientists who would have discovered life-saving medicines have been killed in the abortion clinics? Hopefully you disregarded the comment about the brown shirts. It sucks that we are having to agree with what I feel is common sense. What we have now is common sense having to push back from the pushback? All I can say is we're going to keep pushing back and I think the more we do it will actually expose the crazy leftist ideology and hopefully Common Sense will regain a foothold.

    yeah, no, maybe in a democratic socialist country, with an education system modelled on the one we used to have. uc berkeley used to be free. but yeah, as long as you have good credit you can get some loans, no excuses. like ben said, a lot of public schools are garbage and people don't have the same chance to get into the same colleges. like the town next to berkeley is an example of rich people screwing poor people out of good schools. in the middle of oakland is piedmont, a millionaire tax haven, where they have every ap class, etc. those kids have a better chance of getting into berkeley than oakland students did ten years ago. that was new jim crowe. also in california, the worse the school performs on testing, the less funding it got. so one rich people and bad policy both contribute. obviously corruption plays a part, and we have to keep working towards that ideal. the funny part is you hold a 'social democratic' ideal: more ironically, in latin, a social democracy is a republic, or "res publica" (commonwealth/public things).
