Nigerian politicians always claim seniority at every given opportunity. Amaechi served at State level for 16 years doesn't mean a first term legislator can't question and query him. These are elected officials representing Nigerians at the Federal House of Representatives and they should be given their due respect at all times. As for Honorable Oke, you might be a second or third term representative but it doesn't permit him to question the integrity of the committee chairman not minding that he was co-opted into the committee. APC has dubious characters just the same way the PDP does. It's high time Nigerians voted for other neutral parties and test their candidates. Having recycled politicians and political holders in the system would only cause more ridicule of the legislative arm of government. Nigeria is a big joke and it's sad to see these men exhibit their arrogance all the time. The Speaker was even wrong to interrupt the committee's hearing.

You need to borrow as much as possible, build as much infrastructure as possible. The next ruler will be forced to keep same standards. That's what cross river state is doing, they borrowing more than lagos state!!! You will find how to pay later or get debt relief. The previous governor's and governments in Nigeria are evil, they don't borrow, BECAUSE YOU WILL THEN DEMAND QUALITY AND INFRASTRUCTURE from them, they know you won't accept anything less! Only Nigeria is not borrowing ,that's absurd!

Some of us are extremely disappointed at the efforts by the Speaker to interrupt an ongoing parliamentary inquiry being conducted by the chairman of a legally constituted committee. The U.S house speaker will NEVER interfere and or disrupt an ongoing parliamentary inquiry because the witness feels uncomfortable with the line of questioning. We all watch CNN and CSPAN to witness how committee members, including the chairman, interrogate witnesses. The House speaker is NEVER visibly present. Femi Gbajabiamila is showing that he is only stooge for the executive. It is clear after the meeting he and the Senate president had with the CNC that they were directed to go easy on government officials summoned to testify before parliament. The fact is, most of these Nigerian lawmakers don't actually want anything to change. The executive literally agreed to lending terms by the Chinese government with a clause that waves Nigeria's sovereignty in the event of a default. What do we think will happen when these railways finally collapse, like every infrastructure project in the country? Does anyone believe that the Chinese themselves will not work to compromise this effort in the long term so that they can gain control over important sectors of the country? I weep for this country.

The title of Honorable is befitting of personality like Nicholas Ossai. He had demonstrated that he is truly a distinguished member of the house by his display of high level of intelligence and sound approach to administrative issues unlike the dull and arrogant Amaechi. With persons like Hon Nicholas Ossai as a citizen of this country, there is no doubt that foreigners in the developed world would still have high regard for some of us.
