Young lady you are that someone to this person. i am an old man who suffered a cardiac arrest and while laying in that hospital bed i heard you. I have never stopped listening to you since as you really do inspire me to be the best i am able to every God blessed day. Thank you Grace! Your rendition of "Rain" brings tears to this man. "Beautiful Thing" is so beautiful, "Sick of Being Told" has become my mantra, and i just love "Escape My Mind" There is only one Grace and she is nothing but grace.

I was just about to comment the same thing. That sentence stuck with me cause I just found out about her today and this is probably my 30th time listening to this performance.

After 30 years of broadcast and streaming, dealing with genres coming and going (and wayyyyy too many coming, and not enough going, lol) Pop is everything that originated in the US and UK right around the 50's. Popular music, is whatever is just that - popular from just about any genre - but is usually considered mainstream non-niche genres. Not like there's never been a break-out though. What I find interesting though... is that a lot of people consider 'Pop' as mostly 80's / early 90's - ish rock if you ask them to list titles. Regardless of age. It's kinda funny really.

@@namesakeradio I was in a funny mood that day. I pretty much wrote what you did somewhere else. In the 70s I always thought hard rock people used the word pop as a put down. Elvis was considered pop and he is the most respected singer in history. I never considered Jackson on that level because his best album was Quincy Jones's music and his famous Moonwalk Cab Calloway allowed him to take the credit for it. But he was the king of pop

Back in the 80's I worked with a guy who would say "guess what" then when I asked "what?" he'd say "chicken's butt. that's what!" So when I heard Grace use that line I laughed so hard. I haven't heard anybody say that in decades. I love you Grace
