Full Trekking and Summiting of Aconcagua (6962m)
The first of my 2019 adventures was to fly to Argentina and climb Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the Southern and Western Hemisphere. Before this mountain the highest peak I had summited was 2877m (Pic de Midi, FR) & the highest I had been was about 5000m when trekking to Machu Picchu in Peru back in 2008. I was not alone on this adventure, I had my old friend Al Hogarth with me. Going into this adventure I had experience of multi-day adventures and he has summitting expertise - together we formed the perfect team and successfully summited this beast of a mountain on 28th of January 2019.
I will be posting a full guide on how to solo (without guide) climb Aconcagua on my website (www.jamieramsay.net) in the coming days. This will include kit lists, check lists, useful websites and how we acclimatised.

Thank you for making fantastic video with no constant background music other than natural environment!
Nice video & detailed
Great video. I appreciate that you included some of the less glamorous, but still important details.
Great watch! Thanks for sharing. Alway love seeing people do things like this themselves, not just taking the guided tour package option. Respect.

I struggle with comments like these. As if going with a guide doesn't mean that I did my research, trained hard in preparation, and showed up committed. And of course there's the other 50% who nitpick my solo attempts even if they're successful and say "they didn't do XYX - they NEED to take a guide". Can't win with the keyboard mountaineers.
Congratulations and thanks for sharing 👏
Great achievement guys, really enjoyed watching this.

Will have to try firepot. Grajales gives you food at Confluencia and BC. Surprised u were eating freeze dried in those camps. I think Grajales and inca have poo tents.
Awesome - great video for others interested in the same. Looks like altitude is the main challenge for this
Super cool
What kind of tent did you guys have? I’m so impressed by your weight management.

Hey man, did you had the chance to publish the guide? Please let me know! Thank you!
I have questions - submitting in December - training regiment - logistics .. did you ever give some your luggage to Grijales and have the mules carry some stuff to higher camps ... Thank you - awesome video
