Full Time Income making Balloon Animals - Is it possible?

🌈 The Twisterhood is now accepting new members!!! Join us at www.TheTwisterhood.com Can't wait to see you there! ✨
Can you earn a full-time income making balloon animals for a living? We break this down and I give my experience in this video!
------------------------------------------------
If you're interested in getting started as a professional working balloon artist, make sure to pick up my free guide, The Linework Guidebook, available here: www.balloonhowto.com/linework...
I also have a starter kit that I made just for balloon professionals who are looking for some printable resources to help make their events go smoother and help them look more professional and get more bookings, you can check that out here: www.balloonhowto.com/paid-2-p...
----------------------------------------------------
In my experience, it is absolutely possible to make a full-time income as a balloon artist! You need to figure out what full-time means for you and how much you would need to earn. Then divide that number by 12 and you'll know how much you should try to earn each month to reach your full-time goal.
Making balloon animals is also a perfect side hustle if you're looking for something you can do on the weekends to earn some extra income. It's also an easy business to build on the side of whatever you're currently doing for work on the weekdays.
If the idea of getting paid to party and play with balloons sounds like a perfect job for you, make sure to subscribe so you don't miss the other videos I'll have coming out on this topic!

I’ve worked part-time for a friend as both a balloon twister & face painter for 6 years now and this video helped confirm and really put things into perspective. Thank you for the great topics! Keep them coming! #texasgal ***topic suggestion: “Staying healthy as a balloon twister.” You always look great, Holly and hearing how you manage hand, wrist, shoulder, joint & overall health would be a helpful topic, imo. ☺️

I make a very decent living as a balloon twister. But I also face paint and do other things. I don’t have a “normal job”. Which is perfect because I am not normal. LOL

I agree that it is possible to make full-time income. I have been working on my business part-time for 6 years, along with a part-time job at a grocery store. This summer I quit the grocery store, and I am glad I did! Like you said, Holly, it takes of time to do all of the work of arranging things. August is my busiest month ever so far, and I have gross sales of around $6,000 in the works this month. Thanks for sharing about it Holly!

Thank you Holly. Your Line Workbook is a great idea for newbies. Easy to get started with a book like this, basic equipment, practicing beforehand and having somewhere to go is the best thing to do before getting into balloon art. I did all that. A bag of 250 two-sixties entertainer assortment and a hand pump from Larocks.com and head on to a 4-day festival. I HAD to make an income and Larocks was just down the road from my house 12 years ago, and Nancy at Larocks was very helpful and Jonathan Fudge (and latter Holly) were very helpful on the phone and he has great beginner videos on youtube. From working full time as a BA to part-time to full time back to part-time. Additional info for the newbie: Working just about only on the weekends is perfect for a side hustle. BUT Keep your full-time job if you have one no matter how horrible while you are building your business. Network with others in the balloon business. Marketing - get the word out. Marketing is the key to your success. And unfortunately so is the location, where you live. Travel is a big part of my expense, get read to travel far and wide. San Antonio is a large city, making $4K a month is probably very doable in a mid to large city. I doubt that can happen in a rural area. Consistently to make it a full-time job making $50K. I found doing balloon art to be very seasonal as well. there are months that are better than others. Expenses. At $50 an hour you probably will not be able to recoup your expenses. 12 years making balloon art, I've made an unbelievable amount of money. Do what you can as a side hustle first as Holly said, learn how to market. Find those who are successful in BA do great marketing (like Holly) and have an engaging personality, and learn from them. I've found that is the best thing about this industry, how helpful and generous everyone is in helping you succeed.

I worked as a Clown on weekends in the summer (up to 3 shows a day). I could take off the winters. That's as close as I came. I used to work for small entertainment companies to get started. Eventually, I started getting my own gigs. I hope this helps people.

Hi Holly. I . am both a singer and a balloon artist, and I learned SO MUCH from you that I could never thank you enough ! Both in singing and ballooning, I too much face the same kind of problem, of clients who want to book me... for free... or for as cheap as the next amateur who has a regular job and moonlights in the weekends. There are so many musicians who are delighted to be paid with one meal and 5 beers, because "they don't to it for money", and quite the same happens with ballooning around my place (France). Like "WHHAAAT you charge for 200 € and this lovely woman who does it just because she is so passionate and selfless charges only 80 for twice the time". Or worse "why do you charge at all because we allow you to work for tips on our streets ?". I used to be a photographer too and had to give up for exactly the same reasons. Do you have this kind of reactions in the US or is it just a french terrible habit to give the jobs to those who don't play fair ? ^^

Holly thank you so much for your videos and for sharing your knowledge with everyone. I volunteered to make balloon animals for our churches fall festival, never having made anything with balloons before, and your videos have been so helpful. What basic items would you suggest I learn for this event? I have been working on the dog, swords, and flowers to start. I am a military retiree and am seriously considering taking this to the next level. I am finding twisting balloons to be very fun and relaxing. Thanks again!

Hi Holly,.... 1. what do you call for the service like this ? I mean what do you offer to your customers to be ? 2. If you can make about 20-30 balloon models in an hour, and there were more than 30 children in the event, it means you can't make balloon for everyone in that hour, what would you do if the customer only hire you for an hour in this case? ( just an example )

Thank you for that Holly. I've been doing magic and balloon twisting for kids for the past 6 years now. Mostly weekend work. I notice the kids seem to enjoy the balloons more than the magic...LOL. I have created many epic balloon sword battles in my time :) Business has kinda dropped off lately though. Got any tips on advertising? Your talk of balloon animals and flyers caught my interest...

What if i only know how to make a few balloons. Like 5 or 6?. Is it still ok to try chsrgeing or just try learning more. And try getting it stuck in your head. Also where can you find good balloons? Cause everytime i bloe mine up. They pop . Even if its soft and eveything.

I started only knowing a handful of designs. You will naturally learn more and more the more you just get out there and start working! I wouldn't charge top-dollar if you're a beginner, just focus on getting experience and learning what you can as you go! larocks.com is a great place to get professional quality balloons
