    Very nice and clean setup I am new to this hobby so I was looking at these red sea tanks for when I am ready to step up to a finer option, I started off with a Fluval Roma 240 liter with my current setup I use canister filters two of them to do different jobs and a hang on back skimmer this is okay for me to have such a busy looking tank It is still really nice but when I want a cleaner look I want a red sea aquarium. This is an excellent video and presentation of what you can do with your custom equipment very nice! Awesome ideas to put in peoples heads! I don't need a chiller so I can do lots with that space like add more water for an ATO so I can go longer between fills things like that. I love this setup.

Is this your theory also spoken to Red sea they said no trickle 2cm below but impossible tried fro 3 days.

    I have a few questions. I see you are using ATI Essentials with a Dosing Pump. What size product do you use? What is the amount of dose of each do you do and where does your dosing go? Into the Sump or Tank? Also I am using 2 Heaters on my 525 XL because I cannot afford a Chiller right now. Where is the best place to put the Heaters. The Sump or Tank? When Using a ATO System do I salt my Resevoir Water or use Unsalted RO Water? I appreciate all the Help

  • @DutchReefer

    @DutchReefer

    6 жыл бұрын

    Hi Cary, yeah actually I stopped using ATI Essentials and went back to just Balling Classic. I'm mixing it in 5L jerrycans and adding it to the sump area where the skimmer is so it quickly dissolves into the water, about 100ml a day from each jerrycan. Heaters go in the sump or in the overflow box, whichever you prefer. Please use unsalted RO water for ATO, because the water that you need to add doesn't need to contain salt since salt doesn't evaporate. Good luck!

I have a 55w UV filter from Resun, but the in and out are on opposite sides and yours is easier since they both on the same side... it was also a long trip to find the right tubes and parts and eventually I used TEC7 and handywork to make it run :)

    Thank you Dutch!!! Filling my tank now. It’s set up in the living room and excited. As for the UV. My research shows a 25 watt with about 1000 gph. Any slower and it risks killing the coral food. But the chiller you have has a tight flow band of 106 to 211 gph. My question is do you split your flows to the chiller and UV? As always. Thank you for your time and help!

  • @DutchReefer

    @DutchReefer

    6 жыл бұрын

    You're welcome! I do split my flow to the chiller, UV and an outlet into the big sump part to create some more flow, which works just fine. Not really sure how tight these boundaries are though, everything is working fine withyout paying much attention to the actual flowrate.

  • @DutchReefer
