I’ve been in similar situations, but not with family members. I cannot tell you how much of a relief it is to have your spouse believe you when something happens to you that you didn’t start and didn’t want to happen to you and that other people you trusted don’t believe your side which is the unvarnished truth. It breaks a huge part of you & ends your relationship with those people regardless of whether or not you can keep them out of your life. There’s just a giant mark in your life at that point in your life that can never be erased no matter what anyone does or says. And it really breaks your trust in a way that you can’t explain it anyone who hasn’t been there.

Gotta laugh at such idiocy. Even if OP’s ex was despicable enough to cheat on her with her 19 year old sister, he was absurdly stupid to think she was going to make a loving, loyal partner to him. She cheated with her sister’s husband, and she was still a teen. Those facts should have relegated her to “girl to have fun with temporarily”. Him trying to have a relationship with her is hilarious. Of course she doesn’t respect him. He cheated on her sister and didn’t bother to come when she lost their baby. What’s to respect? The fact she’d do those things and her age practically ensured she’d be horrible to him as well. It takes a special type of evil to cheat with your sibling’s spouse.

OP 1 was an idiot to reveal as much about her personal life as she did. A simple "lol, no thanks" or even just deleting the email and blocking her ex would have been a better, safer, response.

If this is a recent story, I hope they get got by the justice system. I can also acknowledge that it's insane to take sleeping pills from someone, especially immediately after that person's unhinged son tried to SA you.
