Seriously one of the best additions by Reload. Love that we finally see him interact with Mitsuru and get details about the original trio. Also like comparing how he treats MC and FeMC. Really shows how gentle he was acting with FeMC. He's more like a gruff older brother here lol

I had all three third years in my party and defeated one of the boss shadows in Tartarus. Lmao Mitsuru had to threaten Aki and Shinji to write an essay cause the two kept bickering . They were so scared 🤣

I love this. Not only does it give the male MC a chance to bond with Shinji, but we finally get a more indept look at his relationship with Mitsuru.

Slocum did a really job with Shinjiro, especially in 10/4. Def one of the best in the new cast. The letter subplot with the SEES trio did a good job fleshing out the chars, and was moving.

Damn… They actually delved down more on Shinjiro’s relationship with Mitsuru and Akihiko in this one. I actually really like that change, it just goes to show how important their friendship was back then. Also, you can see the difference between how he treats Makoto and FeMC/Kotone. He opened up much more easily, is surprisingly gentle and smiles more often when it comes to FeMC. In Reload, he’s like a strict older brother to Makoto. Kinda wish we get to see him cook for the others like how he did in FeMC’s route though.

I played this blind after finishing p5r and p4g and even though i knew this game was darker and dealt with themes of death, I was not expecting Shinji to die when and how he did. It was heartbreaking and completely changed my outlook on the game. I did the first two link episodes but ignored the third in favor of social links since I figured the link episode would be playable later. After he died, I got the feeling like i was wasting time doing frivolous things and now no longer had a chance to get to know one of my favorite characters in this game better. I now always do link episodes as they come up since I figure those are more important than the social links.

It's even funnier when Akihiko's VA pointed out the MC mirrors Arigaki's 'hand-in-his-pocket' mannerisms.

You’re real for this. We got so little time with Shinjiro in the original so I’m thankful for the additions of linked episodes in reload. Always wished he stuck around longer than for what he did.

I'm glad they Atleast gave him a Social Link. He deserved it. Even though we can't save him like with FeMC. This fits better with the original story. A bittersweet goodbye

I’ve cried over Shinji’s death a million times, and when I finally thought I’d gotten used to it and made it through 10/4 without shedding a tear, they had to throw in that final Mitsuru episode and I bawled like a baby 😭 truly an incredible character whose storyline was made even greater by this addition. devastated he’s hardly around for a month!

Shinji is really a good character and inspired at least two people even after he died

Shinjiro last words to us (MC) was to help Ken as much as we can abd he slso left the same wish to Akihiko. It pains me that they lived together for the whole of September in the same dorm and yet they couldn't get pass their emotions of guilt and hatred. I feel bad for both...

Definitely the best thing I’ve seen in p3r definitely glad they added this

I was really hoping he lived but at the same time, they did a great job with his death. I really love this character

The only complain that I have is Koromaru's clearly not dog "Awooooooo" at the end of his death scene.

Anyone else spend most of September with Shinji? :') It's like knowing a friend can only visit for so long so you try to do everything with him before has to go.

Yeah Shinjiro said to always keep promises because he regrets not being able to keep his even though he clearly wants to. That message carried forward to the MC who made it to Spring.

The Akihiko scene breaks my fucking heart. You get to watch as this guy you usually asssociate with being calm, strong and sturdy breakdown as he grieves the loss of the man who basically was his brother. I love this game

From a technical standpoint, probably. Although by this point I found it easy to have max social stats and have maxed my more favorited social links by this point, so I think it’s a pretty decent tradeoff for what you get in terms of expositive insight and enjoyment.

You need do all the !!, you miss out on a lot of new content as they are day specific and if you dont do them you lose all !! for that character in future as well as they are compounding stuff

I would love it if he become a full social link replacing the current moon arcana or just use as alternative like Daisuke and Kou in Persona 4. Same goes with Akihiko and Ken

This just makes me wish they added FeMC 😭

It sucks how you lose the Hell Biker persona if you don't complete his linked episodes... but anyway, it's amusing how Atlus pulled a Aerith in this game, this character has the polar opposite personality if compared to Aerith, but their roles are rather similar. Still, I do think the FF7 plot could still move on if the writers decided to spare Aerith, the characters could have reached a final resolve without this gimmick (especially Cloud), but in Persona 3 the gimmick is better written, literally using the Persona transformation to reinforce the resolve even further, etc Atlus and Enix have the real talent, Square used to have great talent... until Nomura and Nojima appeared
