This is a Great idea for people with a severe injury that is not capable for driving them selfs to a location. This is so far the best that I've ever seen and as i would even like one myself as i don't do well with driving as yet. The people working on this should be very proud of bringing this in to the world

the car actually has several timers that trigger for you to briefly take control to make sure you are awake and functional, otherwise it blocks you from utilizing the autopilot for a week

Despite any cons and what some people may say about self-driving vehicles, I say the idea is still worth it because not everyone is lucky enough to get their driver's license nor are able to drive, but don't want to have to rely on public transportation services all the time.

I have a driving license and i am a great driver. I want a real fully automated car - so i can see outside - nature - I just love watching outside /observe. it's far batter than a movie for me. For this reason I do need a FULLY FUNCTIONING SELF DRIVING car which Tesla is not.

Self driving was so smooth that I didn't even hear the audio.

Even though it's self-driving, the law will require you to be fully able (licensed, sober, awake, etc) to take over autopilot in case something wrong were to happen or the car required input from you mid-travel 💁🏻‍♀️

That’s the fucked up part...technically all the “drunk driver” would be doing is getting into the vehicle and inputting an address into the GPS, the vehicle will literally do everything else... If anything, you’re “over-seeing the operation of a motor vehicle” and not actually “physically driving” 🤔🤷🏼‍♂️ However, if anything causes the Auto-Pilot to fail and you have to drive manually, you legally can’t.

The most amazing thing about this is seeing a car come to a full stop at a Stop sign for the first time in my life.

Imagine ticking a 12k “performance option” on a Mercedes, and the car never allows you to access it. Would never happen, they would be sued. What WAS released is a beta version for Tesla to collect data and refine the final version. 36k down the drain on a feature that still has not been released. That’s how Tesla cares about its loyal customers - promise features and release them years later at a reduced functionality. They did this with FSD, with Spotify (FINALLY arrived), with auto lane change, with in cabin camera functionality, with robotaxi….Musk is trying to go to the moon yet he can’t figure out how to build a car that doesn’t have inch-wide trunk gaps. I’m a fan of him generally, I appreciate the the things Tesla HAS done. But in the same breath, I can see what they have missed on with clear eyes. Lots of missed promises to customers. Where’s the roadster from 5 years ago, where are all those 50k non refundable deposits??? Can go on and on. Tesla’s a great company but they are being run horribly.

@Astumed Elon talked in their presentation yesterday about how they'll probably be removing the steering wheel sometime in the future, when full autonomous driving is the standard. But I suppose until that happens we can always take the wheel and drive manually if we feel like it ;)

We almost got killed using this Tesla feature. We were merging from from one freeway to the other. The curve was so sharp and our Tesla did not slow down! I not sure this is a good idea

Such self-driving systems, especially this early into development, cannot really be trusted at all circumstances, and may quickly become a danger in the roads.
