FULL REVIEW: The affordable & super efficient 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 LE

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

#mitsubishi #mitsubishimirage #mirageG4
The 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage is one of America’s most affordable & fuel efficient new cars: the base Mirage starts at less than $14,000 and with dealer rebates & trade in, you could realistically snag one for right around $10,000. It also delivers a whopping 40+mpg on the highway. We tested a 2020 Mirage G4 Limited Edition outfitted with an impressive list of features & technology, coupled with that super affordable price and stellar fuel economy. But you get what you pay for when it comes to overall build quality, engine power, performance and safety features. Is a 3-cylinder engine with just 78HP enough? Would you buy a new Mirage??

I purchased the hatchback a few days ago and I must say the car is more than capable for highway use and passing. My complaint are the overall cheapness of the interior, the armrest being awkward and the seat being uncomfortable. I can live with that stuff. I wanted a Plain Jane car without all these crazy electronics. Extremely easy to work on and parts are very cheap to get. You may not be the coolest guy on the block driving this but you will have the biggest wallet with the fuel you save. I’m getting 38 city and 44 highway

I think that's a great car. I find it one of the quirkiest new cars there is. No other car has a engine that sounds like that, and no other car goes that slow, so it sort of stands out. Only one major downside. It's the most dangerous car in America, with highest fatality rating, not because it's small, but because it's structural integrity is sh!t. Just look at the IIHS crash test ratings. Thing is less safe than some old cars made 20 years ago.

It's pretty much a "disposable" car in many ways, but after reading several comments by owners, they seem to give it high marks. Seems like a perfect urban commuter or 2nd car. Many Americans seem to put far too much emphasis on what you drive. Many just want transportation, even some who can afford a better car. And I miss a CD player in my VW Golf. Very good review too!

How spoiled we've all become. I just want a car that goes from point a to b. AC in the summer and heat in the winter, heated seats that's a perk. For people that live in cities like me (NYC) and have been taking the subway or bus their entire lives this is paradise. And the comment about the "vanity" flap on the passenger side..it's a visor to block the sun. Throw a compact mirror in the glove box. A "vanity" mirror on the driver's side is wonderful for people to use to apply makeup when they're late for work and cause 10 car pile-ups on the expressway. When would you accelerate from 40 to 55mph? Wouldn't it be gradual? If you're into racing, this is obviously not the car you would buy. If it's loud, turn the music on. Don't drive fast over bumps. Drive responsibly. Don't floor the gas. It really is better to get there alive than bragging about your fast car on the other side. The Versa has transmission problems. Certain years have recalls and class action lawsuits. Be sure to research everything.

Pick up is adequate and so is passing (noisy if floored). . lot of other features like auto climate control, wheel mounted controls and a decent stereo. i would recommend that new owners to pay attention to servicing the CVT transmission when recommended. Overall good used car purchase form a dealer that threw in a lifetime powertrain warranty as long as service is done by ASE certified shop, hard to beat.

I don't understand how anyone thought Red stitching was a good idea on the interior of a blue car. That red stitching would look okay in a red car, maybe even in a black (or white) car if you wanted some contrast (and even then, only if you like red). But IMO it looks terrible inside of a blue car as if the decision was made by someone going for a spiderman/superman theme. Edit: I'm currently looking to trade in my car towards a blue mitsubishi mirage g4 but currently the only one within a reasonable driving distance is a LE (like in the vid) with the red stitching inside, I'd rather wait for a standard g4 ES trim to show up on sale without the red stitching interior.

I bought one. Made the mistake of teaching someone to drive in it. It's totaled but the structural damage was minor. The reason it's totaled is because parts are so expensive. On top of that, I'm stuck with a car that is illegal to drive, I've had expired tabs for over a year now because I can't pass a salvage inspection. What part do I need to pass the salvage inspection? A turn signal socket, for a light bulb. I've been looking online for about a year, the dealership doesn't return calls and sends you to voicemail. Don't buy it. There's better cars out there with similar mpg and a better ride. If you need parts you're fucked. Look up crash test videos of this thing too, it crumples like theres no car under the hood. The fender bender that totaled my car and crumpled my hood, had zero visible damage on the truck's bumper that was hit.

The manual transmission isn’t the best standard on the market. Hard to describe unless you’ve driven one. Plus the cvt is rated higher for mpg. This is the only car I’d recommend the auto over the manual

Collin Mac I had opposite experience. I found the CVT scary slow off the line. The stick is pretty smooth. It should cost less to maintain than the CVT and its peppier. I also managed better MPG with manual models, knowing how to drive stick. I managed 55 mpg on the freeway. Additional benefit is a entry level Mirage is only $9000 range after incentives and discounts. I would not opt for a loaded one. They can be purchased for $13,000, but under 10 makes more sense with these cars.

@djkenny I have the 5speed and it’s okay off the line. Merging on the highway... you better build your momentum lol. I get about 39 combined and I drive semi aggressively. I don’t expect much out of this car so I can’t really disappoint if my expectations were already low lol

Collin Mac I came so close to buying a left over 17 end of the year for $9500 in burnt orange. I recall an SE hatch CVT I also Drove flat out scared me how slow it was merging to make a left at a light. The stick was no race car, but adequate. I do not really regret instead buying a 15 Scion XB manual with 32k, instead. But that fuel economy is awfully attractive!

@Richard Favreau definitely a great deal. There is advantages and disadvantages to both. Spark is spunkier/handles better. Mirage has a much longer warranty and gets great mpgs, often over 50 mpg.Mirage has a little mire space . Reliability is likely better long term on Mirage, but with manual models its less a concern. Newer motor on Spark is likely better, prior editions had some reliability problems. CVT Sparks are not very good, but quite okay okay with Mirage. Yeah, I think the Mirage requires next trim up for Apple Car Play, but there is always aftermarket Mirage has Standard cruise control. Both can be had under 10 grand and are an excellent value. $9900 OTD is wonderful. Too many options and higher cost makes little sense. On both cars.

Only one major downside to buying this car. It's the most dangerous car in America, with highest fatality rating, not because it's small, but because it's structural integrity is sh!t. Just look at the IIHS crash test ratings. Thing is less safe than some old cars made 20 years ago.
