Nice video, Bobby. About the "grinding" noise when you engage 2nd gear, perhaps you can try searching online for a Fiat 127 shifter coupling to be replaced. Typically, these type of old-school cars would really benefit from a new shifter coupling, to enable smoother gear shifts. If after replacing the shifter coupling, the "grinding" noise is still there, you may want to get the Synchromesh in the gearbox to be checked. Just my 2 cents opinion. Have fun with your new toy!

ALL Italian cars of these vintage have inherently weak 2nd gear synchros and grauching changes 1st to 2nd when its COLD is de riguer. The prancing ponies included up to the 355 series, so do not fret. As a brother pointed out, you can try checking the shift coupling. You can try double de-clutching and DDCs will smoothen out the shifts in the higher gears too.

The camera position in this car is so perfect and seeing your neighbour reminisce over the car was pretty cool too. Cars with shorter gears like this car are more fun to drive cause you get to shift more often but of course you do get tired quicker. It also makes the car an event to drive tho... I guess what I'm saying is that I want something like this now 😂.

The Fiat 127 is a beautiful 70s design. One sad story about the Fiat 127, is what happened to the chief designer Pio Manzu'. On his way for the presentation to the Fiat management(we are talking about the final maquette) Manzu' was involved in a car crash and unfortunately died. He therefore never saw his creation in full metal. The Fiat 127 was a big seller in Europe.

Bobby, try this method. As you downshift to second gear, don't driectly slot into it. From 3rd go to Neutral (for 2 second) swings the gearstick then slot it into second gear. Like the bus and the lorry drivers do it.

Drop in the fiat coupe NA or the turbo engine version. At least its still a fiat. This car originally came with 903cc. I m an ardent fan of fiats despite adverse comments abt them. Bravo to u.

Sounds like synchros are out. For a cheap possible temporary fix, try thicker MT oil. Ease into gear slowly, don't slam it to 2nd.

Since I'm here, want to consult the shifu here. Helping my dad sell his car online, gotten 1 potential buyer. He brought cash and want to drive away. Just gave us a form to sign and he mentioned he will do the transfer once he gets back to his state. I was skeptical because what happens if he gets into an accident? It's still my dad's name. So we rejected him. Came another 2 callers, all asked for the same arrangement! They mentioned its the norm as people staying in different states don't want to stay here for a few days just to get the transfer done! Can someone enlighten me? Thanks Bros

the brake pedal travel by percentage of being depress goes like this: 10% - nothing 20% - nothing 30% - nothing 40% - nothing 50% - nothing 60% - nothing 70% - nothing 80% - nothing 90% - something 100% - everything

Hahaha I fucking died at the wiper part. Bobby I had a similar issue with the gear on me dad's old van, you can solve it by engaging the gears at lower speeds.
