This model dresses up the top-of-the-line G-SHOCK, the MR-G, in the traditional Japanese color known as kachi-iro (winning color). A dark navy blue color with a long history in Japan, the winning color kachi-iro was preferred by samurai, and was often used for armor and helmets. This means that this new MR-G model adopt the very spirit of the samurai warrior.
The MRGB2000R-1A model comes with a durable fluorine rubber band with the distinctive Bishamon tortoise shell finish of Bishamonten armor, a symbol of strength in Japan since ancient times. A typical Japanese scale pattern is used on the surface of the dial, while the outer periphery of the face is cut to a shape that resembles a Japanese fan or folding screen, creating a stunning impression. The gentle concave surfaces of the hour markers resemble the curve of a samurai sword. The inner surface of the bezel, inset dials, and logo all incorporate kachi-iro. The bezel is made of recrystallized titanium. Heat treating titanium creates a distinctive crystal pattern on its surface, which resembles the nie on Japanese sword blades.
Function-wise, this model is equipped with time signal reception and Bluetooth® communication capabilities for smartphone connectivity. This MR-G model incorporates ancient Japanese strength and aesthetics, combined with unmatched modern materials, structure, and functions.

I assure you the rubber strap is awesome; looks and feels great. Titanium band is also great but rubber strap is very sporty. Love it!

Gorgeous watches. I love the rubber strap. It's strange that it does not have an 'A' button. I would still prefer the new MTG-B2000 versus the very expensive MRG's. I love G Shocks for my 7.5" wrist.

mtg is my fav at the moment but have not seen these in the real. I own high end swiss and the metal g but the mtg always ends up on my wrist

How would they stack up to the Frogman and Mudmaster? I want one for both diving and super durability, as well as solar powered. If these can do it all... it is an easy buy for me :)
Very nice piece! I saw the mtgb2000 2days ago in the gshock store here in jeddah with 50% discounted price.. iam about to purchase but i have no enough money on hand 😁 i still love my gsteel b300.

What’s the price after discount if you don’t mind sharing?
The rubber strap / bracelet doesn't seems to be secured by screws, or any quick release mechanism like the MTGs. Can it really be changed out?

Yes it can, however you will need a watch pin tool and a hammer to get this one out. I recommend taking it to your local trusted jeweler.

It requires an expensive proprietary tool from Casio ($400) to unscrew that torx looking part on the strap.
I love my analog Frogman GWFA1000-1A but I thought the $750 I paid for it was too high for a G-Shock.

I bought my MRG B2000R & have to goto a different store to have the strap cut to size by Casio master repairman. However, i will buy a 2nd rubber (i know it's not made in rubber) strap in titanium as a spare. But i will see if i can also buy a titanium band as an option if i go swimming/diving in the ocean.

The MRGB1000 would look better on your wrist. It’s 46mm in diameter and only 14mm think.

My statement was geared towards the statement in the video. Of course, it depends on the wrist size! If a person is shopping for a current MR-G, they already know how big they are. But out of all the newer MR-G’s the MRG1000 is the smallest. Thanks for replying.

What Quartz watch can rival that level of finishing, detail and quality for a lot less? This is a watch meant for the rich folks, not for anti-Quartz watch snobs like you. The price isn't just about materials, it has to factor in labour cost (since it's literally hand assembled), R&D and the movement itself - which isn't a cheap Quartz movement like you so ignorantly assume. 🤦
What sales boy fail to deliver is how this watch even justifies it's price tag. Usd 300 should be the price max Usd 3000 price tag attract sick minded rich people who want a watch which other can't afford.
