I am not Jewish but that was lovely. It was very wise at the start to say we should all look for the positive and good. Same with our children - I always say try to say at l east 5 positive things to them for every negative. Look on the bright side in life. Be an optimist. See the good. Most people are good at heart all over this planet.

I had him in 9th grade. He was nice enough and a good Rebbe. But the Yeshiva or should I say my classmates were terrible. I was a naive out-of-town religious kid with an honest good heart. My classmates were a bunch of ignorant, barely literate New York criminals. Four of us went to the general store down the road. All three of them were stopped for shoplifting. Friday nights in the dorm were playing games on the computer, listening to music, getting drunk and eating ham sandwiches from the deli down the street. Many of the older guys were bullies that preyed on the younger ones. Fights weren't common but did happen. The food was poor and often the older guys would take it for themselves. Every Friday I had to go to Lakewood to buy food so I wouldn't starve. I started 9th grade secular studies (which weren't too bad) and was shocked how many of the kids could barely read. After a week they moved me from the 9/10th grade class to the 11/12th grade class. About a week later they moved me to an empty room and gave me some textbooks to read and I was no genius. I just had a normal day school education. Two weeks into 9th grade and I was too advanced for the 12th grade class. Thank G-d I left after that 1 year but it seriously messed me up religiously and socially. Perhaps one issue I'm unhappy about is surely Rabbi Trenk and the other leadership knew what was going on and did nothing to stop or fix the problems. I'm not trying to attack him because he was a good man. I'm just relating my own experiences.

The gemora (Pesachim 49b) says one should sell everything off in order to marry his daughter to a Talmid Chachom, and if he can't find, then he should look for a daughter of Gadolei Hador. We usually associate the term "Gadol Hador" with one who is a great Talmid Chochom, but here we see the true Gadol Hador doesn't have to be a Rav Aharon Kutler of Rav Moshe Feinstein, but one that is a great tzadik and a doer who helps others. Of course, Rav Dovid Trenk ztz"l was a Talmid Chochom, (as well as my nephew's father-in-law) but more importantly, he was a true Gadol Hador!

It depends on the context. Rabbi means a teacher in the general sense, while Rebbe refers to my personal teacher. Here the speaker refers to Rabbi Trenk as his Rebbe, as he had a personal effect on his growth. This would be the same with any teacher, and therefore there isn’t one person who you can point to and say, “that is the only Rebbe.” Rather everyone is referring to someone when they say Rebbe, and you have to understand the context to know who.

The Great News is Here! 2 Corinthians 4:3-4; John 8:32 Acts 2:37-38; 19:1-8 KJV Will you be saved today? Matthew 11:28-30 KJV Buy the truth and sell it not; also wisdom, and instructions, and understanding. Proverbs 23:23 KJV BE NOT DECEIVED!!! Matthew 24:4 KJV Hell is going to be full of preachers, and false prophets who has denied giving the people, the undivided truth! And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32; 10:9-11; 14:6-12; Luke 24:45-47; Acts 2:38-39; Ephesians 4:4-5; Colossians 3:17 KJV Don’t allow anyone to sugar coat your only soul to the lake of fire to burn forever. Who report do you believe? Read, read, read all about it beloved. Psalms 9:17; Isaiah 5:14-16; 66:23-24; Revelations 21:8 KJV Beloved soul, be very sure before leaving this life, to allow the main thing of the main thing to be the main thing in our lives. There is only, if we carefully think about it, TWO CHOICES in life “Deuteronomy 30:15” to choose from. THE RIGHT CHOICE! THE WRONG CHOICE! Jesus said in Mark 16:16, He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. What I observed from this quote from Jesus is two choices laid out before us. Believe the gospel of Jesus Christ and be saved, believe not the gospel of Jesus Christ and be damned. A saved be and a damned be, and which be we choose will be the be we be when we depart this life. My heart is grieving for the many souls that have not a clue of what the Lord requires of us to do to be saved indeed. I am stressing to each and everyone of us, to let no man deceive you, “John 5:39-40” you and I have one soul, and we are heading back to eternity to give an account of the deeds done in our body’s. If we don’t get saved the ONLY way that’s recorded on record in the Word of God to be saved “Acts 2:38-39” during the church age, so we can indeed be numbered among them “1st Peter 2:9-10” which are sanctified, then forever our souls will be lost. HERE IS THE MAIN THING OF THE MAIN THING WE MUST POSSESS IN OUR LIVES BEFORE DEPARTING THIS LIFE! Be sure we read and follow the instructions concerning the fine print here. Our very souls is truly affected by it. A life insurance policy for our very souls before the death angel shows up is much needed! Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. The believing Jews obeyed and did it. Acts 2:38-39 KJV The believing Samaritans obeyed and did it. Acts 8:16 KJV The believing Ethiopian obeyed and did it. Acts 8:36 KJV The believing Gentiles were commanded to obey and do it. Acts 10:48 KJV The believing disciples of John were re-baptized after being updated to do it. Acts 19:5 KJV Beloved souls, be not deceived! The book of Acts is the ONLY book in the Bible which explains how to get the savior and be born again, and after the book of Acts, we have 22 books called the epistles, teaching us that, denying ungodliness, and worldly lust, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world; Titus 2:12 KJV The gospel of Jesus Christ is the ONLY thing in our world that can subdue and conquer this monstrosity in our lives called SIN! Beloved ones, save yourselves from this wicked, perverse, untoward God generation and them that will hear you. Trust and obey, for there’s no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey. Romans 10:9 The Most Abused Verse In The Bible. I want to challenge and remind you, reading this chapter, you have to handle the word of God properly! The Bible is a message from God not from us, and when we open the Bible to teach and preach we are dealing with God’s thoughts. Our job is to properly understand the text and then preach and teach what we understand. We can mess up every other book, but when it comes to the Bible we must get it right! People misunderstand the Bible for the same reason they misquote Shakespeare. They spend their time repeating what they heard somebody else say, but they have never really read the book or got proper understanding for themselves. I guess in most cases it’s ok to mess up Shakespeare because there is no eternal consequences. However, when you mishandle the Bible, you put yourself and the saints in a bad situation. The greatest danger in the world and in the church is the false prophet and the praise hustler. You know the ones who try to make the Bible sound like they want it to sound and say what they want it to say? While they are performing all of the pulpit gymnastics, nobody is getting any word. These praise hustlers run right past the Old Testament. They take off in the four gospels, jump completely over the book of Acts and land in Romans Chapter 10 verse 9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. They take Romans 10:9, and tell you to believe on the Lord Jesus and you’ll be saved. I’ve got news for you, you’re not going to be saved until you get saved. If you forget everything you have read so far, don’t miss this. The book of Acts is the only book in the Bible that tells you how to actually be born again and receive Jesus. Accepting Christ as your personal savior is not in the Bible. You can accept something and get nothing, but anything you receive, you have it. The Bible doesn’t teach to accept Christ, it teaches to receive him. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 1:12 KJV Romans 10:9 is not the plan of salvation, and the only way it could even sound related to the plan is when you take the whole passage out of context. False prophets have made a lot of people think that just because they confess (or admit) that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from the dead, they will somehow be “saved” and make the rapture. If you start reading at the beginning of the book, you see that the apostle Paul is deeply concerned with the Jews and whether “they” will be saved. Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. Romans 10:1 KJV In verse two Paul explains that they have a zeal, but something is missing. Their knowledge is incomplete because they are still trying to get to God through Moses and the law. Just like in the book of Galatians, Paul is trying to get the Jews to understand that they can’t be saved following the law and that because of Jesus they are not under the old covenant anymore. They follow their religious duties, traditions and sacrifices very well, but these things will not cover their sins. Paul wants them to know that they need the blood of Jesus! 2. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. All Paul is doing is defending the gospel and the reason that we preach it. He is also explaining why Israel has failed to come to Jesus. 3. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 4. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth. Romans 10:3-4 KJV When you dislocate the scriptures, they don’t work! Romans 10:9 only says what most people think it says when you take it out of context. Remember when the disciples thought their boat was about to sink? They called out and said, “Master, save us!” And in Matthew chapter 14 when Peter was sinking, remember what he said to Jesus? But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. Peter and the apostles were not asking to be saved from sin; they needed deliverance from another, more immediate issue. They were asking to be saved from drowning. When you see the word “saved” in the Bible, it’s not always talking about being saved by the blood. Look at Romans 5:9-10: 9. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. Romans 5:9-10 KJV Notice that Paul says that salvation from wrath can be obtained by people who are already saved. The Amplified Bible makes it a little plainer: Romans 5:9-10 (Amplified Bible) 9. Therefore, since we are now justified (acquitted, made righteous, and brought into right relationship with God) by Christ blood, how much more (certain is it that) we shall be saved by Him from the indignation and wrath of God. 10. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, it is much more (certain), now that we are reconciled, that we shall be saved (daily delivered from sin’s dominion) through His (resurrection) life. Just like in the above examples, Paul uses Romans, chapter 10 to say that Israel needs to be saved. They are very religious and devoted to the Law of Moses and to there rituals, but they are omitting the main thing when it comes to salvation, and the main thing is Jesus! Because of there misguided zeal, Paul is saying that they need to be delivered (saved) from their traditions and brought into the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Paul was saying if the Jews want to be saved from sin, they must first get saved from their old ways of thinking and their traditions. The book of Romans was written to a group that was already saved, but written about a group that needed to get saved. The Jews needed to first get saved from their traditions, so they could then get saved from their sin. Romans 10:9 is simply saying that if the Jews would confess Jesus with their mouths and believe in their hearts that God raised him from the dead, then they could go on to accept the death of Jesus (as substitutionary), the blood of Jesus and the plan of salvation that was preached by Peter and the rest of the apostles. Confession and believing would put them on the road to being safe so that they could accept the gospel and be saved. Notice, even the much criticized Wycliffe New Testament translation properly renders the word “saved” as the Greek word “sozo” (sode’-zo) which means to be safe, do well or be well. That if thou acknowledge in thy mouth the Lord Jesus Christ, and believest in thine heart, that God raised him from the death (that God raised him from the dead), thou shalt be safe. Romans 10:9 (Wycliffe New Testament) Romans 10:9 was not and is not offering anybody salvation from sin. You can’t be saved until you first get saved; you get saved by obeying the book of Acts. You can go to Romans and talk about being saved. You can go to Corinthians and talk about living saved. You can go to Galatians and talk about thinking saved, but you aren’t going to be saved until you obey the book of Acts Beloved, don’t let false prophets and jelly backed preachers tell you about being saved without telling you how to get saved. I don’t care what doctor so-and-so says and it don’t matter what Bishop Pretender says, the Word of God is the final court of appeals. If you can’t validate it by the Bible, you just have to let it go. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again John 3:7 KJV
