FULL PARADE: New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade 2022

After a two-year COVID-19 hiatus, the New York Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 69th Infantry Regiment once again leads the world's largest St. Patrick's Day parade as it marches down midtown Manhattan's Fifth Avenue.

Walking Down Fifth Avenue Departing 44th Street - the Green, white and Gold I walked with the all children, I walked with all the old. Ancient traditions rarely are so colorful Saint Patrick, He was so wonderful. He gave a gift to Ireland, that never would decay Now I'm walking down fifth avenue on this famous day. We came from Cork , We came from Clare Flew thousands of miles just to be there. Remembered the friends who once walked before The stories they shared and old Irish folklore. They now walk beside us, sure I know this is true right here in the space between me and you. So the People are all lined up, the band begins to play. Saint Patrick's day in New York, on a sunny March lit day. There's no place in the world like it, no place I'd rather be Walking down fifth avenue with my dad beside me. 🇮🇪

I am a 67 year old Black Women who had a father that worked as a Stevedore at Port Newark NJ. He met men from all walks of life and all nationalities. The majority of his white friends were Irish. My Dad never failed to prepare Irish Potatoes and Corn beef EVERY St Patrick's Day and all our friends came to eat. I live in North Carolina now where they don't celebrate as we did in New York. I miss being in New York for the parade. God bless you my Irish sisters and brothers. I wore my green outfit all day on Saint Patrick's Day.

How wonderful to hear this! I love the fact, that the Irish and the African-Americans in NYC, from the earliest days, were living side by side, in harmony. As the Irishman on this show stated....The Irish and the African-American's were dancing together, they fell in love, they had children together, etc;. They were close, but things started to change unfort. Let's hope & pray, that those days may return for the Irish & the African-American communities. That would be so wonderful, bec after all, there's some shared prior life experiences there. I'm glad that you enjoyed St Patrick's Day. May God bless your dear late Father. Thank you, for sharing your wee story & i wish you all the very best. Take care. x

Oh my gosh, this is so, so wonderful, beautiful, from start to finish! A belated Happy St Patrick's Day to all Irish & lovers of the Irish & their culture! I hope you all had a great day! Your celebrations looked like much fun & we here, all enjoyed ourselves & our hearts were full of love & joy. What a wonderful time to be back & to enjoy life & cultural celebrations again. I love the Irish & their level of love and respect for all humans, no matter where they may hail. The connection between the Irish & African-Americans, from the earliest days in NYC, is quite amazing to hear about. I hope/pray, that their connection will return, for the Irish & African-Americans do have some shared history. I am not fully Irish, but i do have Irish ancestry & this has been verified in various ways, so now i understand why, i've always loved Ireland as a country & it's people. My husband is mostly Irish & his Mother was born in Co Roscommon. My ancestry is said to hail from Co Clare & it's so funny, bec Co Clare, has long been a favourite Irish region of mine. Thank you, for sharing this awesome upload & may God bless you all in NYC, in beautiful Ireland & around the world. For we all share this one precious planet & we are all of the one race.....the human race. Peace

America usually mangles foreign cultures by contorting them into something completely unrecognizable and so divorced from the original that it can't even be reasonably connected to the original. (This is not a uniquely American thing. Check out what is marketed as "American" in much of Europe and Asia and it will most likely be completely unrecognizable to you if you are an American.) But this is not the case with Ireland. Thank god. St. Patrick's Day remains a wonderful tradition despite the Shamrock Shake, pinching, and other non-Irish traditions shoehorned in. Erin go bragh! ❤🇺🇲 🇮🇪

As someone from Northern Ireland this parade should be made more all-island inclusive, drop the Irish flag and the Roman Catholic Church neither of which represent St. Patrick and use his official red cross flag and all Christian faiths as it was him who brought Christianity to Ireland. Alot of politics in this parade too which isn't good.

You should've learned that majority of the Irishmen who were the ancestors of at least a tenth of Americans were driven out of Ireland due to the Irish Potato Famine and the St. Patrick's Cathedral in NYC was a symbol of their sacrifices to set foot in the new world. The Old St. Patrick's Cathedral was a witness to many attacks by anti-Irish and anti-Catholic mobs (Know-Nothing Nativists) in New York. Can't believe that it took a Filipino to explain it to a Brit. Coloniser's mentality perhaps?

St Patrick did not bring Christianity to IRELAND ,Christianity was already established in Ireland when patrick was abducted from Britain , Patrick had been to Rome, came back and was more bold in his approach to spreading the word, mostly in the north of the country, and he got the nod over the other seven bishops of equal stature in the country, that is why he is the one.
