Ppl are saying he is reading from a script written for him. All ministers & PM speech are written by their PA. Don't be ignorant. Remember how ex PM Goh & PM Hsien Loong started. Both are stiff as kayu but eventually improved along the way.

Well done Mr Tan. Were you elected as President, go with local politicians to friendly countries to have trade, economic, defence and cordial relationship for the betterment of Singapore. Good luck

If Mr Tan is Elected President he has the Power to Appoint the New PM. So if the Wrong Party ( WP) wins the Next GE, the President can Stop Pritam to become PM. But Pritam can tell PresidentTan under the table that I allow u to have lots of Fun if u make me PM

He lost me when he had to read from a written script. As the president of Singapore, you need to be on top of all matters regarding the lives of ordinary Singaporeans. I fear that Mr Tan will not be articulate enough with his thoughts. He doesn't know about soft power. You need to display a kind manner and not a confrontational attitude.

Mr Tan sometimes has this habit of talking slower, but from this video you can see is fatigue. I'm also helping a bit on my own not part of his official team (I know them not politcally but I'm a Singaporean who lived in JB Sentral last year, welcomed the ordinary Singaporeans that he brought over to see etc. I'm also one of the tech startup people in SG created payment gateway etc.), even from behind desk, it can be fatigue after awhile, since there's a lot of comments here and there. It looks like fatigue, but even for me I cannot tahan "fatigue". He's doing very well here for someone 75 year old. He's the main opponent to former DPM Tharman this PE, and by default all things work on the PAP-linked candidate. Up hill task. Where possible, if you are common Singaporean you should support TKL. If you are already an elite, one of the elite in establishment, earning $50k to $100k month on month, within the circle, then by all means your best choice is the other two etc.

He's no ordinary kopitiam uncle, he may look like one, try to act like one, but he too benefited a lot from the system in high position many years ago, for sure NTUC income is also very big salary, maybe 300k to 600k per year or maybe 800k etc. But since he's retired for so long, the kopitiamness is in, takes public transport and all etc. Your two other choices probably are not authentic or not even kopitiam people at all, they just visit kopitiam right now for votes, or visit kopitiam only as a work to appear in their ward (TS), their dinner could be $200 beef steak red wine quite often, you never know, and that is not even much, that would be puny to them. Probably sometimes hang out at Sentosa Cove, or maybe not even that, high probability to hang around people in the Good Class Bungalow circles, probably know a few billionaires, it is a different class far away even from the condo class. They probably don't even know Blue Line downtown MRT change to yellow line is at which MRT station etc. Far from ordinary This is the reason you should vote for this kopitiam looking uncle TKL

In most other countries, e.g. Emperor of Japan, UK King, Malaysia Sultans all have no real powers, but they have the "voicing out' power. It is the same. It should be that way since president is actually #1 and PM is #2. It is us Singaporeans who got it wrong. The president is meant to be above government, not meant to be a puppet endorsed by government, from within the government.

I think you can't say that without backing your statement with numbers. In 2011, Tony Tan barely won, the votes of the other three Tans combined were way higher than Tony Tan alone by a high margin. With the vote of Tan Jee Say, based on 2011, TKL already has close to 1/3 of Singaporeans' votes already. In the coming days, you will see TCB making clear where is his vote going to. Not to forget, we have half a million of young voters who have never voted in a presidential election before. Based on the younger estates in Aljunied, Sengkang, Bukit Batok, etc., the likelihood of the new voters voting for TKL is way higher than them voting for Tharman. Who will determine he is fit? The 2.7 million voters on 1 September. Let's keep our mind open please.

He should be the president. Out of the 3 he is most in touch with ordinary people. He could have remained retired with a house in SG and a house in JB, there's nothing much he really need to do actually. But he's going for this PE. Former Tharman still needs the job, resigned, just to aim for a promotion etc. If in terms of "too much money", NKS and Tharman probably has a lot more than TKL, they are still people earning around 90k per month (1m+ a year) for many years. GIC is a company so should be very much very well paid

Waste of money. Better donate that 40K.
