FULL MOTO. James Bubba Stewart on a Kawasaki 125cc Against 4 Strokes | 2004 Washougal 125 Moto 2

Спорт

Two thousand and four marked the turning point of the four strokes REALLY taking over, with only James Stewart Jr, Factory Suzuki, and Factory KTM having two-strokes still on the line as well as a few select privateers. But by the midpoint of the season it was only Stew fighting inside the top 10 of motos on the small bore Kawasaki. Relive another Stew Classic, finding himself dead last around the first corner and ripping through a field of thumpers at possibly the worst course for the low-torque 125s, Washougal.

I remember going to Loretta’s when Stew was on a Kx 100 and he was running the fastest laps of everyone!

Me and my sons went to every race at Washougal when James ran 125's and 250's. Great memories. Still have a set of goggles he signed for my son. Understand, Kawasaki had to rebuild the motor after every race because he rung the neck off in each moto.

@tambourahall7865 Multiple interviews with his Kawi mechanics say they were rebuilding his engines quite often between motos.

@@jacksondaniels8169 yess because that's what you do on a 125 two stroke. you change the motors between motos it wasn't that uncommon. also side noted you should go watch the story about how good James was with the motor and not frying things and how he didn't run the bike motor hard. the only thing that James was hard on was the frame because of the risk and stuff he would take. you might learn a thing or too.

I got the opportunity to flag Southwick when James was on the 125 and God Damn he was so fast and to be that close to the track made it even better!! Bike failure was the end result but I’ll tell you what that man was special and he had lapped up to like sixth I think was what the guys were saying anyway he is still the best I’ve seen on the 125

Could you imagine a 125 blowing past 250fs these days! Best part is when they say Ryno ghost road his bike into Hanny! 😂. Good layout this year.

LOVE IT! Too bad the video quality isn't better. The only other rider I love to watch other than Stewart is Bob Hannah.

I feel bad for dudes like millsaps and hepler and grant. Because those guys were so fucking fast.. they just had to be on the line with stew. And i also feel bad for prime kdub on a four stroke, who was in his absolute best form, against Ricky. All of these guys in both classes were incredibly fast, but they (besides Windham) arent respected enough just because of the superhuman competition they had to face over their entire career

Js was soo good, but most of his competition wasnt, not like nowadays... the top 10s in every class have a big chance of winning races. He is conseidered as one of the greats because he was in his era, nowadays is more dificult to have this much domination.
