Anyone who wants to lose of Republican voters feel free to speak up. It's a dumb advice.

Mr. Moore seems to say what i said in '88 at the Southern Babtist Convention in Cleveland Tennessee. I was ejected for objecting to the message of the church changing the message of salvation to the message of prosperity. The change had been long coming from media preachers that had finely honed their craft to the beginning of "the big grift". As a seminary grad i learned alot about the mechanics of this new doctrine such as charitable contributions, tax shelters, filling out proper forms and other deeply religious methodology(🤣). And i also learned a little about Jesus. And though i have evolved my personal feelings on this pursuit, it is certainly unrecognizable as christian. And the evangelical movement is completely deviod of the teachings of Christ where it does not fit white ideology. I think Mr. Moore is spot on and the fact that he is still Editor in Chief at the magazine is astounding because he seems to grind against the usual charactors that have hijacked Christianity much like the Fascists have hijacked the formerly known Republican Party. I respect him immensely. The pay your way to salvation or to get wealthy is laughable but the message from Christ was not. He simply said "give up your worldly goods and pursuits and follow me." I was wondering while printing new bibles if the 'eye of the needle' parable has been removed. Because i can take my bible that was printed in 1940 and compare it to one written in the last ten years there seems to be things missing. Huh?, i wonder..🤔

@@Nu1SaNc8 if you are refering to the attitude at the convention and the pushback from the likes of Copeland, Hinn, Dollar, Deplantis and other so-called preachers then i would agree. If your hurling an allegation at me for my position then that suggests to me that you are easily fooled by conmen and grifters and are an integral part of the problem. Here is a fact. If you preach for a living then i think you should be compensated so you can live a decent standard and raise a family. But entering into the ministry with the goal of getting rich then that is the council of demons you refer to. There is no double standard in Christ. And the parable of the millstone around your neck is fitting

George Santos lies far less than the average Democrat. Biden lies about how many grandkids he has. He lies about his son dying in Iraq when he died in a comfy hospital in the USA. Biden lies about his grades in Law School. he was bottom 25%, not top 50%. Biden lies about having a house fire when talking to the people of Hawaii. So..

​@@eyescreamcake I think there's a significant segment of people who would prefer Trump not be the Republican primary winner, but who also don't see Biden as having any kind of high ground on morality or character. In that case, it really comes down to where the candidates stand on other issues to them. Otherwise you vote third party or don't vote.

Character, I have found, is a learned thing. If we see that we are alone, to fight for our lives in this human jungle, then character is pretty much another name for greed and meanness. If however, we see that our leaders are in there with us, care about us, and have the character traits of decency, then yeah, we make those good choices. Having Trump as daddy, or leader, or whatever, means one learns that life is about grifting on the suckers.

Did you watch the video? This interview explains why he left the SBC, and it was because of this exact conversation and his opinions on Trump. So your argument is circular and shows that you care more about whether someone is loyal to Trump than whether he is loyal to Christ.

Interestingly - it has been four years without Trump and the country isn't "done for". Unemployment - historic lows. Painful Covid measures - successful. High Inflation - for now. Trump's no god. Trump's no savior. He's just a guy that wields power less restraint than anyone else. He doesn't care what's legal or moral. He will use whatever means he can to get his way. As a result he is facing a dozen criminal charges. Several people close to him have been convicted of 'seditious conspiracy' - that means they are convicted traitors against their own country. Trump may face the same charges. That's your guy. Pending charges of treason. After just four years, Trump pardoned over twenty people in his political organization for committing federal crimes. You want to give him four more years of power.

He doesn't speak his mind, not quite. He speaks his GUT. And what's in his gut is exactly what's in his followers' guts - knee-jerk fear, anger, ignorance, resentment, and racism. So it resonates with them. Now maybe some of us have figured out that what's in his gut, and in theirs, and in ours is the same stinking brown stuff that's in everybody's gut, and it's best got rid of and flushed down the toilet. But they're proud of it.
