    I used to wrestle, (Never liked team sports. All I saw was a dictator coach and a bunch of workers jumping up and down), and their upper body is bent over more than we used to do when standing up. Techniques change,---in sports based on the individual. Just a guy from Michigan would would like to thank Miss Tamyra for her excellence, and love for the nation that is suppose to allow us, as individuals, to be "GREAT", (and not just at sports). I really enjoy watching an individual be "GREAT". Why? Because all greatness, came from an individual like Tamyra. Congrats young lady. You beat the system, and I bet it was easier than you thought it would be. Do you know why? A good man/woman makes a hard job look easy. :) Proud to be your American neighbor. Congrats again, and Thank you. Doug in Michigan

    Freestyle. Ever see anybody do a gramby roll, off the top of the head, where the body is vertical (upside down), to the mat, so you don't lose 2 points for showing your shoulders to the mat? Invented by Dave Gilbert, (4th is HS state), from Mason County Central, Michigan, 1980. The ref was shocked. That is why I love sports based on the individual. They are allowed to "think". :) His favorite reversal was the gramby roll, and he modified it so he would not lose points in summer time freestyle wrestling. Now why do I remember that? :)

  • @EarthSurferUSA

    @EarthSurferUSA

    3 жыл бұрын

    Oh, by the way, we had girls wrestling summer time freestyle in 1979 (give or take a year). They were from my area, and most of their older brothers wrestled. They were wrestling against the boys, and they held their own pretty good, (all had winning records, or close). I remember one kid, (about 12-14 years old), would not wrestle a girl, and he was not giving up his values. His Mother said, "You wrestle, or we go home.". They went home. All 3 of the gals stopped after one of them broke a collar bone. But at that age, with their spirit, they were competitive. I knew them all personally, neighbor gals, and we all rode to the matches together. The one who broke her collar bone was also super super pretty,----so I guess losing to her was,---well, like a date. :) kidding.
