One of the best matches ever and possibly the best point of all time at 8:39 (the speed, the power, the offense, the defense, the level !!!) ! By far the best non-Chinese match I have ever seen.

I dare say it was a historical win of Felix. Simon is the same national team member who knows Felix the most and he played like a tactic fox. He tried to break down Felix mentality but little kid overcame it bravely. Huge win Felix.

What a match !!! It was incredible in every aspect... The rallies, the points, the passion of both of them, shouting and showing their feelings, the public making noise clapping and using those horns... Everything was a show. I'd have loved to be there. Congratulations to them... Simon and Felix, good performance 🤘💯. It is a pity they had to face so early in the tournament.

As a French, it makes me happy to see that we have two players a this level. Both are incredible, even though I a bit more pleased by Gauzy style, it was a way better match than the French championship.

Yeah the match during the French championship was uneven, Gauzy was overwhelmed by Felix's speed and accuracy but this time it was really really close and Gauzy's backhand really troubled Felix from time to time, it's worth noting. Congratulations to both players!

Simon Gauzy s'éloigne peut-être un peu trop de la table,mais c'est son style de jeu plutôt "mi-distance" mais face à un joueur comme Felix Lebrun qui lui est plutôt assez près de la table,le challenge est difficile à remporter.Ceci dit,Simon Gauzy est un joueur vraiment complet, capable de flipper en revers des balles basses et courtes à une vitesse impressionnante... Beau spectacle que nous ont donné ces deux champions du TT Français.

Yes, the score was surprising but not so much when you look at how mentally pumped up and positively energized physically Gauzy was in this match. It was so sad+tough seeing him struggle the past 1-2 years. Very happy for him, even though he lost this match (same with Truls vs. FZD). WTT Frankfurt 2023 is indeed a great tournament so far, will follow closely during my holidays =)

Gauzys style is awesome. Players usually only do these risky shots only in training but Gauzy also uses them in critical situations.

It's crazy to me that I considered Gauzy and Bruno at the same level given their ranking now and then I see this match and I'm like "Yeah, Gauzy is still an absolute madman and I love him for it"

Dommage que la poignée de main manque un peu de chaleur entre français et coéquipiers de l'équipe de France quand même, même si on peut comprendre avec les tensions de l'enjeu. Bravo à Simon en tous les cas d'avoir fait jeu égal avec Félix (et quels points magnifiques tout au long du match), quelle bonne nouvelle pour l'équipe de France ! Too bad that the handshake lacks a little warmth between French and teammates of the French team anyway, even if we can understand with the tensions of the stake. really felt like he had a couple more than Gauzy here. Even a double happiness once. Might have gone the other way, but both played great anyway.

Gauzy played very well, but was still not enough against Felix!

Thank you I couldn't figure out what he said with all the clapping. It's not the first time he complains about his forehand during a match haha. Fortunately we've seen tremendous progress with his forehand so he will surely complain less about it in the future.
