For sure, especially when played in such heat and relative humidity, with a ball that was as slippery as a bar of wet soap. Amazing display.

entertaining game to watch but the quality of kicking and handling was shocking considering the quality of players on the pitch

As always the last pass for the first try in the 2nd half goes 1/2 yards forward right in front of the ref, but nobody cares about forward pass anymore to the detriment of the game.

They are both Super Rugby Aotearoa teams but at that time they were playing in the SANZAAR Super Rugby competition which also involved Australia, Argentina and South Africa teams.

Game of the season I reckon, no matter your personal loyalties (I'm an Auckland man myself). And in hindsight, some warning signs for the ABs world cup campaign: Read pretty much MIA, Mo'unga largely outplayed by the journeyman Aussie import Debreczyni, the impact of Sam Cane around the ruck... Never mind, I guess nobody wins three in a row. They'll be back.

Ref missed some crucial calls against the Crusaders. Two hands in a ruck by Same Kane in a row and the ref missed it among a bunch of things. I think the Fijian weather throw this ref off his A game. They should have assigned a Fijian ref to ref that game.
