[FULL] Lawrence Wong’s first speech as prime minister at swearing-in ceremony
Mr Lawrence Wong delivered his first speech as prime minister at a swearing-in ceremony at the Istana on Wednesday (May 15). He pledged to serve Singaporeans with all his heart, and promised they will all have a stake in Singapore’s progress and shaping its future.

inflation isn't exactly their fault, it's just how economics works. It's a global issue, not something only Singapore experiences. In fact compared to places like Turkey and Argentina our inflation is quite tame, and the PAP has arguably done a decent job of managing inflation amidst the current global economic situation.

Good for him. For the rest of us… we’ll see.
Nothing against him as a person or PM but he speaks real funny imo. Has weird inflections, pacing, and drags out his words at odd places. E.g. even at 0:01 the use of the word "colleagues" --- he says "ker-LEEEKS" as opposed to "COLL-leegs" ... it feels as though he had a speech coach who told him he had to slow things down and add emphasis, which is good, but then went overboard with it... lol

@nervxxx I'm guessing you're perhaps not local then - in singapore and some parts of malaysia, it is pronounced colloquially as 'KERleeggs', amongst other seemingly strange pronunciations like 'KAHPUCK' instead of car park.

The world would be better of with hundreds of Singapores competing to attract inhabitants. Singapore is a top example of how the world would work better: with Governments competing to cater to a mobile citizenry. Big countries are a security risk to the human race.
