Thank you so much. I have been suffering with underactive thyroid, probably due to stress and trauma. My throat became so tight that I couldn't sing without getting a headache. This morning I had a go at your exercise a few times, and then tried to have a go at singing something we do. I was so happy to find I didn't sound like I was being strangled lol. I will keep coming back to keep massaging my throat. I really appreciate that thank you again. ❤

Ditto! I've been having tight throat for months and it's been crippling my speaking and energy. This video has tremendously helped me, maybe even more than the speech therapy I was doing. For me, I do it for like 1-2 minute sessions a couple times a day.

Elissa Weinzimmer hey if I have to do this every other day there is something wrong with my voice . ? Also I sleep on my stomach and my neck pressed against the pillow . Which is effecting my neck and voice I think. Any thoughts ? Also When I do this exercise to my neck it gets my voice deeper and then a few days later my voice gets a higher pitch then I have to do this exercise again.

@@beastfromh3l1 if you're not comfortable in your sleeping position then yes I'd try to adjust. And as long as you're being gentle, there's no harm in doing this exercise daily.

Elissa Weinzimmer But is sleeping on the stomach and neck bad ? The pillow is pushing the neck little out of place

@@beastfromh3l1 It's not necessarily bad.. it depends on how you are doing it. Sounds like you need a different pillow that helps align your body in that position. And then you can still sleep that way!

This was really helpful! I've had a really demanding training period for a musical and have experienced some tightness in the root of my tongue after a long day of singing. I did this as a part of recovery routine after a show and it really relaxed the area. I had the feeling if a tight band around my larynx area and it is much better now. I need to make this a habit.
