One thing I need to add about poverty alleviation is that we shouldn't rely too much on government aid(financially) and instead work on themselves to become better so that we can provide more value to the world dahil we are paid not by the hour we put in our job/business but the value we provide to others

I've been watching most of Stephen Cuunjieng' interview but this interview is really sensational and remarkable! Aside from his response to exchange rates and interest rates, I like how he explain and articulate his position in reconciling the difference between the roles of private and government in addressing our agricultural output. I highly recommend this video interview. Very informative! Most enlightening!

many people are blaming the present administration and even the past for the economical crisis that we're facing right now without knowing that it's a global phenomenon controlled by the united states. stephen also stated that we should prioritise agriculture and education which is why i think it is only right that the two highest position in the country will take over the department. i had fun listening to this interview. great questions asked. very articulate as always, stephen. hats off to both!

I agree the govt is relying too much to PPP which would be privately operated where profit would definitely be a major factor that add cost to goods and services. This is especially true for roads where this impacts even the farm products and services. We already have the road user's tax. What happened to this fund. Where is the developmental result of the intent of this tax? We have been paying too much taxes, with added excise even. May be the problem is how are the taxes spent and the corruption issues, not additional tax or fund borrowing, which the previous admin failed to address due to extremely poor financial managers.

The government needs to reassess the whole process to fix all the wastage and gaps in that process. Why not really start removing the corruption in government and its services because he's RIGHT the primary goals of both sectors are different. We need both to make the economy work but we can't confuse their roles.

The only reason to why the dollar is still going to gain against other currencies is that there’s literally NO ONE out there to supplant the dollar to become the foreign currency reserves! Dollar is the most stable currency to hold to other countries to balance their sheets! If Philippines wants to import oil from Saudi Arabia? Saudi Arabia doesn’t want to get paid in Philippine pesos! It wants to get paid in dollars! Unless Japan can get their act and hedge their currency as a legit foreign reserves? Everyone literally everyone must obey the dollar!

@@scuunjieng Well that's the thing because as far as I can recall, what Fidel Ramos instituted was mostly destructive for the country, chief of which was when he officially signed the entry of the Philippines into the GATT-WTO regime making life even more difficult for our farmers, fisherfolks and laborers. He did of course promised them safety net measures which never came. That neoliberal globalization stuff made the country uninsulated from the Asian financial crisis towards the end of his term. Those policy directions he took are now coming home to roost in light of supply chain disruptions, and economic effects of climate change.

@@mitch2192 this is my last reply. You mention only one thing in your mostly destructive rant and while I can plausibly argue that was not good there is no context on what would happen if we didn’t and who was responsible for not subsequently getting us ready. And completely ignore all that was done in his administration. So yes I am of the view you are biased and closed minded. Unlike you I do not blindly hero worship or hate but analyze and do my best to reached a fair conclusion. So we do not think alike even on approach much less conclusions. So will not waste my time any further
