Started following Liverpool as a kid, in Melbourne, Australia, because my mum is from Merseyside, went to my first game v Ipswich at Anfield in1976 as an 11year old ,on holiday. And got to watch a couple of games from the Kop in 79/80 season. But I haven't been back to the UK since. It's hard to believe it's over 40 years ago, got a lot of cool autographs, Emlyn Hughes was there even though he had left by then,I think. Jimmy Case, Steve Highway,Terry macdermott, etc great era...yeah mum's from St Helens.

Heysel was dreadful I remember, getting up at some absurd hour to watch the game, shocking,as was Hillsborough.

Billy Liddell came from the same small town in Fife that my dad did too. I wish I’d realised this while my dad was alive as he might well have known Billy before he was famous as he was only a couple of years older than my dad.

Their 1st ever name was Everton FC & Athletic Grounds Limited not Liverpool they changed to Liverpool because the FA wouldn't allow the club to use the name Everton.

The gates to Annfield have a thistle and the St Andrews flag if you look closely. The very first 11 were all Scottish too.

You've glossed over a lot of important stuff. Like the lpool fans' bad behaviour @ Heysel which led to the expulsion of ALL English clubs from.Europe for 5 years. And Holding was the chairman of Everton when they left Anfield. He owned Anfield. And Paisley was Shankly's successor NOT 'predecessor'. You don't understand simple English. Oh and Houllier didn't 'leave' Anfield. He was SACKED.
