    Hi, Thanks for your very helpful videos. I have a problem with the answer to quant section, question 5. You said there were 6 possibilities of z, but I think there are only 3 (8, 9, or 10). z can not be negative because the question says +8 is ≤ z (so +8 cannot be ≤ -8). S I think the right answer is C. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks

    For question 8, although picking numbers is the way to go in a test, I find the proof intersting. For both quantities A and B, the difference between the numerator and denominator will be the same (lets call it z). Since a > b, a/b can be written as 1+ z/b, likewise quantity B can be written as 1 + z/(b+k). Now by comparing both quantities it is clear that A is bigger than B since z/b will always be bigger than z/(b+k), given that all variables are posotive.

  • @xSTNo

    @xSTNo

    @@anthonyprotopapa6278For 0.3, 0.2 and 0.1, Quantity A is still bigger than B. A = 0.3/0.2 = 1.5 while B = 0.4/0.3 = 1.33. Let me explain it differently, since a is greater than b, we can write a as (b +z), z being the difference between a and b. Now, Quantity A can be written as (b+z)/b or (1 + z/b). Quantity B can be written as (b+z+k)/(b+k) or (b+k)/(b+k) + z/(b+k) which is 1 + z/(b+k). Now compare both quantities: (1+z/b) vs (1+z/(b+k)). Remove 1 from both you are left with z/b vs z/(b+k). Since all numbers are positive and the numerator is equal in both quantities, the value with smaller denominator will always be greater i.e. z/b > z/(b+k). I hope it made sense 😅 although in a test you are better of plugging in numbers and examine carefully.

    For Q3, why do you need any formula, as you said, 300/9=33.33, hence there are 33 multiples of 9 b/w 1 and 300, before 10, there's only 1 multiple of 9, just subtract 1 from the max number of multiples =32. It's so much easier and conceptual if you do this. But then again, to each his own.

    Don't say that Cardi! Remember this is a Graduate test taken mostly by students from STEM backgrounds. So they may have had several year headstart on you. Everyone starts in a different place and has a different journey, yours may just take longer or may take a different route. But I do believe everyone can improve substantially.

    @@TheTestedTutor thanks for encouragement Philip! I’m going to cry ... I study so hard , every little chance I get : I stay up late , wake up early, during commutes ; and I work full time . My test is in September and maybe I’m already experiencing burnout ? Anyway I’m going to keep going!!

    In Q 15 10:15 mins - 34 % is what percent greater than 16% - Here you simply subtracted and wrote 18% . Why not 34-16/16*100(What percent greater than formula). Like in the previous full length mock test we had a similar q(% change in profit line graph ques) 366.66% is what % greater than 21.4% . There we applied 366.66-21.4/21.4 * 100 =1600%. Why you did this one differently like subtracted directly . I am confused please explain

    They are asking the number of consumers not the percentage change so it’s 34%(1000) -16%(1000) which is 180 (In case of the previous one it’s the percentage change which is greater or lesser )

    32:52 isn't the ans C here. Coz here it is asked, circumference is c= "pi.d" and then, c/d = pi So both quantity are equal.. isnt this possible??

    I've also thought the same but in the question it's mentioned circle c and not circumference. However even I think they meant c to be circumference most likely and hence thought of option C

    Youre wrong for #7. Its only -1 if the perpendicular lines are non vertical. The correct answer is not enough info.
