Full Gore-Tex Protection for a cheap price is what we are looking at today. Often found on eBay, military surplus sites and stores, this is a great alternative to paying top dollar for protection from the elements.
Cheers!

If anyone watching is wondering about color selections. There are only camo patterns available that are surplus items. You can get these in various camo patterns. This one in the video is US 3-color desert camo, which is usually the most moderately priced, and in certain light can appear slightly pink. Although, the US Woodland camo version can be had at very low prices as well. If you want to pony up some extra dough, you can also get this suit in US Desert MARPAT Digital, US ACU digital, US ABU Tiger digital, US NWU Digital and US Woodland MARPAT digital. The ACU and ABU patterns are cheaper than the MARPAT and US NWU patterns. The US NWU usually commands more than the MARPAT patterns. The other moderately priced options come from the UK. UK woodland camo and UK desert camo are also frugal options. The UK desert camo parka was also reviewed by Homeslice from TheOutdoorGearReview. If you take a look at that video, the camo looks pretty cool. If you simply must have the most expensive Gore-Tex suit and you want to make everyone else's camo look weak, then you can fork over a few hundred dollars for the US Navy Blue Digital Gore-Tex suit or the US MultiCam Gore-Tex suit. With the Navy Blue Digital expect to pay a hefty price for an X-Large or Large. The Small and the Medium are somewhat cheaper, but still not "cheap". The MultiCam is cheaper than the US Navy Blue Digital, but there again, it's still not "cheap". Now, these patterns that I've provided are not your only options. Nor are you limited to just getting 1 pattern and then buying multiple suits to get a variety for whatever situation you desire. There were parkas produced that were reversible. You can get the US 3-color desert camo parka that is reversible, so the other side is Desert Storm night camo, which is kind of like a dark green grid with green spots randomly thrown in for good measure. You can also get a reversible parka that has one side US 3-color desert camo and the other side is US woodland camo. I have covered what is offered by the US mostly, although there are rare/experimental US patterns out there that will command a huge price. But other countries have produced their own camo patterns also. I have seen Italian digital camo Gore-Tex suits, Russian, Swiss, German, and several others. And remember that Gore-Tex is manufactured by W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc., which is a privately owned company. They are not solely producing for the US GOVT or governments around the world. They produce for the private sector as well. Which means you can get a Gore-Tex parka and pants in pretty much any primary color. But you're going to pay a hefty sum to get a set. These military surplus Gore-Tex suits are just as nice and some are better than what you'll pay 2-3 times more to get in a solid color. The Gen 2 and Gen 3 ECWCS Gore-Tex suits are ridiculously well made. Brand new they go for around $600-$700+. If you have a smaller budget than that, the suit outlined in the video is a great alternative. Usually for less than $100 you can get a surplus Gore-Tex suit. They are well made and unless you're in the field everyday rolling around in a briar patch, they should last you your lifetime. The Gen 2 Gore-Tex pants, which are all the modern US camo patterns, NWU, ACU, ABU, Navy Blue Digital, MultiCam, and both MARPAT designs, have reinforced knees and rears, as well as having exterior cargo pockets. The exterior cargo pockets and reinforcement material are not Gore-Tex, but are 50/50 NYCO material. Which is very robust. I own 4-5 pair of the pants in various colors and 4-5 Parkas as well. Every single set I have I purchased for less than $100. Both Gen 2 sets I own I got for around $80-$90. The Gen 1 sets I got for around $50-$60. It takes some patience to get them this cheaply, but it can be done. If you want the NWU, Navy Blue Digital, or MultiCam parka you can expect to pay $100-$250+ depending on the size and pattern. Small sizes, not medium, but SMALL will be around $100, the bigger sizes will be around $150-$250+. Remember that's just for the Parka. Large and X-Large parkas in NWU and blue digital are rare, you'll have better luck looking for MultiCam. The pants in NWU and blue digital have a similar price range as the parkas and good luck finding any... I hope anyone who made it this far has a better Idea about what is out there. Happy hunting.

After seeing this I ordered a set for myself on ebay. I'm 6'3" and a 35" waist. I usually wear a XL jacket for length and these look like they run big so I ordered down a size to a Large long jacket and trousers. WRONG ! These run HUGE- Not Big! Everything went back at my expense. Live and learn. I have now re-ordered both in a Med. long and they should fit me well with still plenty of room for layers under. I got the military fleece bib pants for a steal at under $10.00 that are for winter use as an insul. layer underneath these. I use these mainly for riding my ATV in the sloppy winter mix weather. The parka is really well made GoreTex and you can't beat the fact that Uncle Sam picked up most all of the tab. They are great steal if you don't mind the camo look.

Hey Brother, I just bought a new, non-issued woodland camo USMC gore-tex jacket and am waiting for it to arrive. I live in Nova Scotia so customs has their hands full this time of year, so I found this video very informative. If I could have recommended one thing more from the video, was you actually putting on the suit for all us watchers to check out the fit. Other than that, another informative video. PS: I'm not sure if you were smoking an authentic havana, but up here in Nova Scotia, the Monte Cristos, and Romeo y Julietas are fantastic to chew on around the campfire telling lies. Nice touch to the video.

Its is the best Gore Tex jacket ever made in my opinion. They still make them but cost unlike the jacket you have they cost 250 dollars. But they cost like this for good reason. But you can get one never used the same jacket the is in woodland green for 135 dollars. The finish is superb. I have a jacket like yours. And had it for 20 years but never used it after I got one of these.

I'm sorry, 'guy', but the cigar only makes you look like a young poser. "Real men don't get lip or throat or lung cancer" detracts from your professionalism and I think reviews should be focused, and free from extraneous quasi-subliminal political statements.
