If I had to be specific I'd say, not being overly greedy to keep events in hand. Trash them with leader effect or other cards (sabo) attacking with blockers and even your thriller bark characters is very different per matchup. There are certain turns where you want your opponent to give you resources by them attacking life. It's taken a lot of games and some good advice from more consistent players to get to feeling good about my play now

Sure thing! So Katakuri you want to go 1st. You want to be the aggressor and attack your opponents life the whole time. Almost ignoring board often. Sabo is your best friend in that matchup and playing it on turn 3 is very powerful. Enel is a very good matchup for you, just attack with leader and fill your board until you have multiple characters to attack with. Take life fairly aggressively and go down to 2 life. You don't want to stay at 3 usually because Yamato will constantly kill your 4 costs. Don't attack with anything on your board until your opponent has 1 life and you can at least attack 2 or more times. If you attack their life only once at 1 life, it's just a free card cycle for them. So only attack if you have enough to get cards out of their hand

I played and enjoy moria for all op06, but now in EB01 for me is a hard deck. In my local there are many luffy by and sakazuki and law RP there is insane how I feel underdog in this matchup. Uta yamato Enel are other deck plays here so in EB01 I can't play anymore Moria 😢 now just waiting op07 Lucci and play queen for antimeta deck.

what would be a good replacement for great eruption? I ask because It will get banned before op07 and after the ban lists and there will be a tournament in South America :S

So that's an awkward time, I'd say your best bet is to just go with soap sheep if you're concerned about the RP law matchup. Otherwise you can just more of certain cards like, helmeppo, Kuzan, brannew, hina

thoughts on eb01 brook? do you think it has a home in the deck? seems it would be hard to find cuts for it

So I have a friend that runs brook in gecko. He did well in the tournament also, but personally I'm not crazy about it. I think it has plays but it's so easily removed so you hardly have the play for it other than in certain matchups

I love having brook in this deck. Run 3x of it. Good for setting up on don 7/8 if they wanna play something big. Having brook there allows easier set of removal and provides similar affect of kuzan where they almost want to remove it if they can

2nd for both. The mirror it doesn't matter too much, but I prefer second. Sakazuki though I'm taking 2nd every time. Getting moria down on curve is so hard for them to deal with

Yes! Youre looking to get your absaloms and hogbacks in trash. Lucci going into trash hurts if you don't have moria but if you do it's potentially ok. It's just hard to play moria sometimes in that matchup

So with great eruption getting banned, you get tempest kick in OP07. It does the same thing of drawing one card, then if you have 10 cards or more in trash you get to give -3 to a character. That's the substitution and then you'll also be running 8 cost issho so that will help lower a lot too. This deck will still be super solid in OP07

@@abiolindo9532 I think a lot of the reason for that is because Kuzan becomes less removable in some of the meta matchups so it's a direct substitution more or less. But either way you can find space for ice age or the tempest kick to work. I haven't practiced OP07 enough to give a full opinion though

So you're not wrong at all, however a good way to think about it, is that they won't be bottom decking one of your attackers, and you get a 2k back from trash. It's still helpful in that matchup :)

@@TheLuffyTCG that's true too. I'm a gecko player and I play almost the same deck as you. I just have different ratios. I still play 2 Bosalinos too. I also cut the kuzans in favor of 8 cost Isho as well. Lucci pops 2 characters for no extra cost reduction. It's also 9K so they have to invest 2 cost reducers to get rid of it.

@@abiolindo9532 it's a gecko moria into Rebecca play usually. So Rebecca into helmeppo and then brook off Rebecca ability. And it you combo it with ice age and great eruption, you can get some higher stuff. But I'm just not a huge fan of it personally

Another bad MU according to me is Aggro yamato

Truth be told, the only time I have ever lost to Yamato is if I just brick on drawing 2ks. Otherwise I don't mind that matchup at all
