Full Flight Review: Eau Claire to Minneapolis Sun Country Airlines 737-800
A snowstorm tried to stop my return flight back to Minneapolis but the good people at Sun Country made sure that wasn't the case. While delays did occur, we eventually got there. It was my first time ever experiencing a break-release departure and it was an exciting experience. Shoutout to Sun Country for all the help and information they gave me on this flight.

8100 ft is plenty of runway. The spool up is a engine deice method
Dozens of 737-800's fly out of MDW's 6000 ft runways...no problem...they even fly in and out of SNA's 5700 ft runway.

I appreciate the feedback but I would appreciate it if you not post repeat comments on my other videos stating the same thing. But since you are interested, I’ll provide a bit of context left out of the video. Please understand the conditions this flight took place in: heavy snow, limited visibility, and gusty conditions. All of these factors add runway distance needed to stop in case of a rejected takeoff (just like how you slow down and/or add extra distance when stopping your car during rain or snow to avoid hydroplaning). While I do admit I misspoke when I said it’s short for the aircraft, with the conditions the airport was in, it narrowed the stopping distance considerably to the point where it was like taking off with 6000-7000 feet of runway. Having driven to and from Eau Claire many times, I'm curious if it's faster and/or cheaper to drive than to fly? When you factor in time to get to the airport, getting thru security, boarding, taxiing, flight time, waiting to deplane, getting baggage, etc... When all is said and done which do you think would actually take less time? I'm just curious, I mean no judgment or offense in any way 😊

@@zeusthewolfskyit’s an essential air service route sun country picked up, so they get paid monthly from the gov based on a per flight completed basis. They get paid no matter how many passengers are flying on the route

Hope that subsidy is enough for Sun Country to cover the cost of flying a 738 with 35 pax on a 75 mile route. Even thru pax to other Sun Country destinations is dicey.
