@sluana1 Way different ruleset. This prooves Aghaev CAN fight full contact continuos bouts once the rules allow it. To transition between rulesets with such ease IS a very rare talen

Aghayevs understanding of throws and takedowns is something else. That's gonna be a problem for his opponents in KC just like it always was in WKF.

@@hootiehootheblowphish4109 This was from the very first Karate Combat. Originally this was the style they wanted to shoot it in. But a lot of people felt that while the cinematic cuts were interesting you really aren't able to get the full picture of what's happening in the fight.

A match using point system. Maybe, since Aghayev has amazing hand speed (wouldn't count on that too much since Machida was also known for being one of the most elusive fighters competing in the sport of MMA) Full-contact? Sorry, but Machida will destroy Aghayev although he is 5 years older and has already passed his prime. Machida is a bigger guy than Aghayev, and Machida competes against guys even bigger than himself. He also was disciplined in grappling based martial arts such as BJJ and sumo. Aghayev's strongest weapon, his nage waza and ashi barai wouldn't do a thing to Machida.

the throws/sweeps do, the head movement at least in shotokan is not traditional

Fun Fact: Karate has many more takedowns than BJJ, plus other throwing techniques. About head movements, depending on the methodology they are taught, but usually karatekas don't do it because that takes away the rigid base, it's easier to be taken to knockout when your body doesn't is straight, besides of course the move cannot always be used.

It's in Karate tournaments, so yes. Karate has takedowns and head movements. Although head movements aren't emphasized enough in many Karate schools, takedowns are, because in most point tournaments, a strike on a down opponent actually gives you the highest score
