I lost my left arm and its changed my life completely. This kid has HART and he would whoop anyone off the streets but man ... to be fighting these Top 30 fighters in the entire world that speaks to how tough this dude is. Having said that, it's STILL not fair. He is missing one of his weapons on defense to protect himself and as a southpaw he has no straight left. God bless him but imagine him at 100% he'd probably be a world champ no doubt.

On a binge w/ JG 's early bouts & I didn't notice the arm ; Amazing what he's accomplished , and you're probably right ; he probably would have a belt & be the talk of the town ; He's in Bellator , lost a split decision i n June ; Great athlete ; definitely will keep an eye on him

I never seen an mma fight in person before and i was in daytona on vacation with my sister and her family.. we got offered free tickets for "some mma show" and I go, ended up seeing this fight live... became an mma fan maybe 6 years later, and justin came around to the ufc.. and I remembered it was him and newell. crazy lol

I’ve been watching all Gaethje’s fight counting down to his first fight knowing the winner but there’s some element of fun here. Gaethje has so much respect for this one handed fighter who is very courage’s and skilful. It’s all in the MIND.

That really broke Justin's heart. He did say in the press conference that he respected him A LOT and didn't really want to fight him ... It broke my heart too see both of them hurting. Nick has dynamite in his right hand and kicks very hard...He hits very hard, jus imagine if Nick had both arms. Nick is amazing, jus shows NEVERRRRRRR give up on YOUR DREAMS!!!!

Newell might be tough but Gaetjhe prayed for forgiveness in the end. He didn't enjoyed that.

Buddy gaethje clearly held back. Multiple times. Couldve smoked that kid with ground and pound so many times i lost count and he backed off, he couldve really really hurt nick. And thats no disrespect just clearly what i observed. Looks like gaethje stood it up to fight where nick was deadliest and most capable which was the standup. And justin deff still gave it to him on the standup for sure, itd also be disrespectful to take it easy and treat him like a handicap. And THAT is respect. Kudos to Nick Newell. Didnt know there was a fighter missing oart of his limb. Puts him at a huge disadvantage no matter who he fights, Balls of steel and utmost confidence runs through this man.

By the way he's missing a hand. I like how everyone seemed so hard to not mention anything. He's got balls to make up for it though. Which doesn't translate to well in the ring though.

Came straight to you tube for this after watching the movie Notorious Nick. Great movie, so motivating to watch.

You have to respect Justin for not going to the GnP when he had multiple chances to, I know he let Johnson stand up too but it seems like he did here out of mercy for Nick.

Have you seen Gaethje's fights? He's an outstanding wrestler but he's always been a stand-up guy. He rarely went for takedowns in most fights. He loves to stand and trade blows and strikes. Although, he could've win a lot more if he utilise his wrestling in all his fights. It's not out of pity or anything for the one hand guy. It's his style. You're disrespecting Newell in a wau by saying that Justin stand and trade as he doesn't want to make him look bad by taking down and pounding a one hand guy. BTW, this fighter had submission wins in his fights.

@Zimik Kachui I wasn’t talking about justin’s wrestling, I am aware of his wrestling credentials. I was talking about a couple instances where he dropped Nick who couldn’t even stand up quickly or cover himself well on his back and Justin clearly didn’t go for the GnP where he had the chance. On another note, Justin literally stopped punching Cerrone on the ground and started looking at the referee to stop the fight, showing mercy to your opponent when you have the upper on them them is never a sign of disrespect, it’s just a sign of good caracter. With that being said, I never meant that Justin showed mercy because he had a physical advantage over him just in case my original comment was interpreted in that direction.

Imagine a normal person totally new to MMA watching this match, they would puke and cry. This match isn't right. But then again, as a fighter myself and seen all professional fights, Justin was truly gentle and professional here. Some idiots in MMA would exploit this and do unnecessary harm.

It’s like he just wants to prove he can beat them without wrestling which he’s an expert in. Every times they are on the floor he just waits for them to get up, he could destroy them there and then but he still lets them up. He’s doing it for us, for the fans. This is man is a legend in the making

respect to newell's fighting abilities, he started out fighting so fast and well that it took me a bit to realize he was fighting without a whole arm.

You can see that geahje didn't even want to keep fighting him. I respect both fighters. And I feel thankful that geahje didn't want to finish off completely his opponent. He might have killed him. But that kid Nick was incredible!👏🏻

Gaethje is a Fuc*kin' beast ! Be sweet if you could hear Trevor's instructions during the fight. Those two work together great.

I know Nick lost but I have to give it to him he's pretty amazing considering the circumstances.

That's tuff. You could see the training and and instinct go head to head there at the end when justin knocked down Nick and he went to mount on him with a punch instinctively but when he saw his face he drew back the punch and grabbed the cage. Must respect to both fighters👌

Hat's off to Newel for even stepping in the ring he is a very tough young man Jason is a very good fighter!

One arm guy is gangster no matter what imo I mean to even get this far is amazing. Props
