yeah I have one of this exact mask and like 5 of the ones with the flat lens. and I've gotta say I like the flat lens way better. it's kinda the same way that the GoPro hero 2 had a curved lens and people were modding it to have a flat lens for underwater use. it's the same thing. the distortion from a curved lens was weird and made me dizzy. the flat lens was alot better for me. not saying the curved lens wasn't awesome it's just the flat lens was way better. I enjoy this mask in the way it covers your mouth with a colored area. the other ones are clear and after a while your nose will run or whatever and I feel like in a video or being around other people I'd rather that not seen. but that's not a real big deal.

Tom's Odyssey i don't have anything posted but I took them scalloping with my family and got some video of that whole thing. I had planned to edit the videos up and post them but I get halfway through editing and give up. one of the main reasons I got the gnarbox to quickly and easily cut videos down into smaller clips. I want to make a serious KZread channel like you've got but I can't ever get myself to edit up a video. I shoot, store the footage and just go on with my life.

Tom's Odyssey I find myself sitting down and I'll cut a bunch of clips and get half way through them and have to leave to have dinner or whatever else and then never really go back and finish them. and I guess it's perseaved value. watching back a bunch of small clips that arnt edited into a full video makes me loose interest. I see a bunch of uninteresting clips and don't let it get to the point of a full project to see it looking cool. on rare occasion I'll let it get to that point because I'll have time or I'm really pumped about what I filmed. but otherwise I just kinda leave it hanging. and I know gnarbox won't solve that for me. but I hope it will allow me to cut and clip things together fast enough to not loose interest.

When I mount the go pro 9-10-11 on the mask used for spearfishing, it feels heavy when going underwater and takes water. Mask inner volume should be small due to pressure. For this reason, I can use it with the Harpoon attachment.

I've used this mask for a while now...and for me...besides what you've already mentioned...the real downside...is that it's inevitable to breathe C02 mixed up with oxygen. The mask claims that it has separate channels for breathing in and out...but that's not totally true...since some CO2 remains in the mask...after a few minutes (maybe 10 mins)...you start noticing the lack of fresh air...and start to feel uncomfortable...and obviously...when snorkeling in open water...that's something everyone should consider... I love the idea of the mask...but it's far from a good replacement of the traditional snorkel mask and tube.

Yeah after trying a few times I found the same :) But on the other hand, I think it's ideal for people who are a little afraid of putting their heads all in the water. Most of them won't be snorkelling a long time, just a few minutes to see what it's like. But I agree, as a diver, freediver, occasional snorkeler I prefer the mask/tube combo :) They are on the right track though!

The Neoprene socks are for wearing inside fins or flippers! So your feet don't get sore and sandy.

I have that same mask. there is a similar mask I have several of with a flat lens on the front. I like the flat lens way better. the curved lens creates so much distortion.
