Everyone watching, keep in mind that you must ensure the shead is ready to come off. Other wise it's painful and can damage the new skin growing underneath. Hope this helps!

@@HomeostaticOwl it the skin is already separated it's fine, but you never know since the shedding does not always happen all at once... The leg shed may be ready to come off while the belly is no where near ready! That's why it's so important to be careful. Plus, shedding assistance is supposed to happen on a case by case basis. I have had to help out berdie in the past when he was tiny and was struggling to get the shed off his eye, where it was poking him. I still soaked him, calmed him and then slowly and carefully only removed what he was struggling with. Most of the time, soaking your reptiles will take care of shedding issues. But people love watching this stuff.. so sadly, some people do this for views, not all, but some. Others use it to educate which I think is good!

Snatching & ripping skin off a reptile can also cause Scale Rot. It's deadly. It starts as a small wound or sore then grows into a big nasty infected wound. That spreads all over the lizard. People need to educate themselves before getting pets. Any good reptile owner knows not to do this

That's fear and pain actually. This is extremely painful, between the fact he's bathing him making the shed wet (dragons are dry shedders) and he's forcing the shed off when the dragon should be able to get it off on his own. Only time you peel dragon shed is if they have stuck patches that could cause issues. This is just animal abuse.

Ok, I am about play Devils Advocate. I would NEVER suggest doing what is done in this video. You should never be that forceful when pulling the shed off. Mind you, that you should ONLY help if your beardie can't remove it. Be slow and gentle. NO SCISSORS (yes some said they use that to help), only recommend tweezers if needed. If it's dry and lifting you shouldn't need anything to remove it. Any shed that is smaller and left on your dragon, give your dragon a bath and use a soft toothbrush in those areas. Always dry your beardie off and put them back in the enclosure. Wet stuck shed is painful to get off. It should be completely dry and lifting.

He would be perfectly still for me to finish the head, then start eating the skin until front legs wait for me to peel the leg, continue, wait for me for back legs, do the tail and then wait because there was always a spot near cloaca that would remain. After that he would just slowly move to his hide. Him showing me this level of trust, if I spot he is in shed I would not leave the house in the evenings until he id done. RIP my smart little boy, I miss you.
