The utter BS is solely outlined by the fact that in one moment he brings up Chomsky’s Manufacturing Consent as a point as to why you can’t trust moneyed interests in journalism, then turns around another moment claiming that his donors have no affect on what he produces. Complete double speak.

Journalism for profit is not the same as donations. Example would be CNN+ is journalism for profit, it required subscriptions to say afloat. If someone gave a donation to CNN because they like their work, and have no say over CNN because of the donation, is NOT the same as for profit journalism. It's vital to have the critical thinking to differentiate between these massive distinctions because they produce drastically different results.

Just tell them that sex and gender are different. They can't define "woman." How did Cleopatra know that she was a woman before we discovered the XX chromosome pair? She just knew. Like trans women just know. Ask them if they can't define woman, to define "chair." ... so a couch is a chair then? ... so a bar stool is a chair then? ... So a desk is a chair then? basically we use words because they are useful. trans women are women because it is useful, sex and gender are different because it is useful. Trans people exist, gay people exist, cis people exist. The language grows to fit our needs.

@@Alex.R.L Good point on the adaptability of language, I guess another related counter is that the right loves to adapt language. A word like 'freedom' has become so heavily modded by SCOTUS Citizens United decision that it includes a corporations right to dominate our electoral system with massive PAC contributions which it labels 'protected free speech'. When spoken by the GOP, its code for freedom of capital, or the freedom of very religious christians to be shielded from the existence of LGBTQ folks or freedom from any deviation from teaching standard American history in schools. When I see language grow in liberal/left circles, it's usually in the spirit of inclusivity, on the right/center it's almost always a mean spirited sleight of hand meant to muddy the waters and advance business interests (clean coal, right to work, free trade).

They get into the cage with a professional fighter, who does not hit them rather he continually trips up his opponents due to them having an appalling understanding of the basics of footwork and balance.
