Please keep making these videos on the motorcycle cycle builds I’ve been waiting and waiting years till I was old enough and had things figured out to get a bike that’s not so right and tear it down and build it into my own these videos are great and very helpful can’t wait to get it started will definitely be using your channel along the way!!! Thank you- dude from Chicago

Good to hear. Yeah, follow those creative ambitions - they lead to magical places. Building a bike is quite rewarding. There are so many pieces to make and sometimes they turn out the way you imagine, sometimes worse, sometimes better, and sometimes just different. Which can take the whole build down a different path. Things always take longer than I expect, which can be discouraging, but there is always some point in the build where thing start to come together and suddenly the final bike is visible and - bam! It's all worth it. You'll enjoy it and good luck 💪👍

Nice job. As for leather edges. This is chrome tanned leather. Burnishing edges works well on veg tanned leather but not so good on chrome tanned leather. For chrome tanned edges, they need to be first sanded and then painted.

Nice job Hooptie.....Patience is something that took me a long time to learn, but when you take your time and do projects following the correct procedures you get the best results. That holds true whether your doing mechanical work, leather work, or even woodworking. I really enjoyed watching this seat build. Thanks for sharing with us.

To get the rubber to stick and conform better warm it with a heat gun then apply. Cheers.

SUPER HELPFUL, I HAVE A TOTALLY RAT-BARE BONES 1972 SPORTSTER... JUST AN ENGINE AND WHEELS... MY CURRENT SEAT IS JUST A PAN... I AM GOING TO FOLLOW WHAT YOU DID... EXCEPT, DO YOU THINK I WOULD RUN INTO PROBLEMS, USING A ONE INCH MINICELL FOAM INTERIOR... ? SOFAR, MY ONLY SUSPENSION IS THE 2 FRONT TUBES AND 2 SMALL SPRINGS TO THE REAR OF THE SEAT... THANKS.... AGAIN.... REALLY HELPED...

Hi do it need to be so thick steel? Will 2mm or 0,079" work?

2 mm seems too thin to me. I don't use anything less than 3.2 mm, while other guys like to use 3.4mm. It got to be able to support your weight, vibrations, and bouncing. It's your choice in the end. Have fun!
