Full costs for our 90 day trip to Quesada, Spain from the end of November 2023 to February 2024

In this video we present full disclosure of everything we spent on our winter holiday which covered 90 days in Spain, travelling from Ripon, North Yorkshire and back again in our motorhome.
If anyone would like to view and explore the full spreadsheet this is the link to it... docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
We are Mick and Cath, currently working as campsite wardens in Ripon North Yorkshire, UK, but with retirement fast approaching we are planning a move to our home in Spain.
In the meantime we plan to use our 2009 Maesss motorhome, a Belgian built motorhome based on a Fiat Ducato to make trips out from our base in Spain with a trip in 2025 which we hope will span a few months in Spring and summer.
The KZread channel was set up to help us keep and share the memories with anyone who is interested, so, if you are interested in this kind of content and may be planning a similar retirement and need to know our costs, we will be sharing our expenses and experiences as we continue our journey.
Our journey really began when we moved to Canada in 2008 for Mick to become a long haul truck driver, where we lived in our truck and spent an adventurous time delivering oversized loads all over Canada and the USA.
We also ran a Blog during that time but didn't have a Vlog due to lack of decent gear for recording in a big rig, although we do have lots of clips on Micks other KZread channel... / @mickflynnimages and lots of pictures on mickflynnimages.com.
We then returned to England for a while and spent four summer seasons working in the Loire Valley on a beautiful campsite, before moving back to the UK and staying for six years working on a campsite near Henlow, Bedfordshire.
In 2021 we moved up to Yorkshire to be nearer our house which had been locked up for a few years except for short weekend visits, although, as we were provided with comfortable accomodation at our current site we decided to sell up, and so began our Spanish dream with the sale of our modest house in Bradford, which allowed us to buy the small apartment in Spain.
Our next big job (which we will be documenting) is to teach Cath how to ride a bike as she has never had one, but we feel that a couple of small folding electric bikes will allow us to get out and about more to explore wherever we are.
Welcome along for the ride, we hope we can make it interesting and informative for you.
Please subscribe to the channel, like, comment and and click the notification bell to prevent us from falling by the wayside as KZread needs to see activity of any sort to help grow the channel.

Hi Guys, a very informative complexed spreadsheet which I would welcome a copy of (Please) as I am not very good with tech stuff. My wife and I have just began planning our future and are about to travel through France and Spain for the first time in our M/H to see if her idea of living 90 days here and there is possible on my pension before looking at buying a small flat somewhere. Although Brexit has scuppered some plans but can be overcome with good planning and a long drawn out process from what I have researched. Will follow with interest to see how things pan out for you!!!! Best Wishes Drew & Linda🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hi Drew and Linda. Don't spend too long planning, just get out there and do it if you can. If you email me your email address I'll send a copy of the spreadsheet to you. My email is in all our video descriptions at the bottom.

Great guys. Very helpful. Enjoy your summer. Looking forward to your next trip. Looking into NLV myself at the moment. Is that the route you are going?

Hi Angus. We both had Irish fathers, so we went that route, otherwise it wouldn't be happening for us.

Thx but I only think the food/eating out is relevant to you. Everyone is different. You also need to compare it to what you spend at home.

Our spend per month here in Spain is @€1200 and we go out to a restaurant twice in a month. My wife does not drink but I like a few beers about twice a week. We have two cars and a 3 bed villa that has central heating to cover on supply hot water and heating when needed. When you live in Spain (extended holiday) you have to live like the Spanish and NOT live like you are on holiday...I would NEVER go back to that shixe hole UK. We have lived here for 20 years and its the best move we ever done. Oh buy the way; We are getting by on just my pension. I do have 3 payments but we can still go away on 3-4 day breaks and 10 day holidays in full board hotels when the bargains come up. Pensioners here can sign up for a discount holidays.

Hi Martin, We are not big drinkers and eat out very little in the UK and we do intend to reign in our spending when we retire over there. Our personal experience in this video is really showing what will probably be our final long winter break and we realise it's not typical for everyone. When we retire to Spain our outgoings should be less than yours as we have a small apartment and will only have one vehicle. We will be looking at the discount holidays as well!
