Oh my god! I feel like your chanel is just underrated. What you brought to the audience in this video is infomative, helpful and practical. Such a great job. I'm a self-learn designer (beginner) and have some trouble with what to put on packaging, and you just brought the answer to me. Thank you for a great video!

I found your channel some days ago and I am just in love. ESL teacher transitioning into Graphic and Brand Design at 40 after working as a teacher for 25 years. Afraid, but at the same time, very excited! Thank you for you content, it' s just amazing.

Great question! Since this is a project for the channel, it is very different to a client project. Creating the brand and packaging for the video took about 5 days including the filming and editing. For clients though, we take 6-8 weeks because there are a lot more meetings and research involved. We also create a brand guide, talk to the printer and export all the brand files so I would not compare this timeline to a client project 😊 I hope that helps!

how much would you charge for a project like this with all the illustrations? i struggle with pricing projects with illustrations so anything would help.

  • @Kayla-app

Hi, that is a great question. It can depend on the size of the client, your experience and the country you are in (like how much taxes you need to pay). I am based in Sweden where we pay around 50% taxes and I have had my business for about 8 years. For branding, we typically charge between £5.000 - £8.500 For packaging it is usually around £2.750 for the first product and £750-2.000 for additional flavours/products (it can depend on the amount of illustration) And for product photos - we have not charged for this yet so I don't want to set a number :) For illustrations that are not created for branding or packaging but as a stand alone piece, you also have the option to license the artwork rather than selling it. That way, you can sell the same design to more than one company. I would look into your own market and think about the type of client that you work with. What are their budgets, how will they use the design and what are your costs. Try out some different prices and see if it is a profitable level for you. I hope that helps! 🙌
