This is awesome, thank you. Just a note - if you are not in the USA you might need to Edit Locations in the map settings to USA. In the Menu Bar click on Map -> then select Edit Locations -> and change the Country/Region to USA.

Currently working through Python, but I'm excited to get started on your SQL series AND YOU'RE ALSO DOING TABLEAU!!!! AAHHHH! Hopefully by the time I get through all of that, you'll have an intermediate series of Tableau as well, I can't wait! Keep up the amazing work Alex! Wish I could buy you a drink!!
Alex.....you are a very good teacher. I've just been given a project that seems a perfect fit for Tableau. My orgainzation already has this platform but I've not utilized it. I feel like I now have a better than basic understanding just from watching your beginer series of videos. GREAT WORK!!!! Keep them comming!
Alex! Big thanks. After taking interest in data analytics earlier this year, I finally started applying and have my first interview next week. Just know that your work is helping a ton of people.

@@boky7731 I took the google data analytics course to start. For me, SQL is the number one objective to learn. I used power BI for visualizations. Have the ability to show your queries online. Show that you can explore data. The position I applied for didn't ask for python experience, but I'm working on learning that anyways to further my career opportunities. Honestly, go to kaggle and download some datasets you find interesting and just start playing with them. Find trends and show through them visualization. Make sure your visuals can be read by literally anyone. My interview questions were mainly how I used data to make informed decisions, and my experience in certain languages. I should know if I landed the job next week, but this was a huge confidence boost that I needed. It let me know the work I presented is good, even though I had doubts. Hope this helps a little.

@@djnaadowanyakumulator3526 Unfortunately not. It was my first interview in nearly 10 years, so to say it was a strong one would be a lie lol. I was placed on an eligibility list for future positions there, so that's assuring. Going forward, I'm just going to work on another project, work on interview skills, and continue learning python.
Hi Alex, it was a great series. You make it simple and easy. please do intermediate series as well thank you
Very simple, concise, and helpful! Thanks Alex for this series, it was a pleasure learning tableau through your videos
Thanks for showing us step by step including your mistakes, I just finished making these visualizations and uploaded it to tableau. I'm really grateful you took the time to create HQ videos and tutorials for us free of cost. I'm adding this to my portfolio to apply to grad school this year :) 😄 Liked and subscribed ASAP
Hello, Alex! Dawn here! I am a Merit America Data Analyst Cohort Learner and I love your videos. Thank you for all that you do. Here's to another Tableau Project that I stuck with and have on my Tableau Dashboard. Thanks, again.
Hi Alex, this was a great video. I learned SO MUCH! I'm having a blast working through your bootcamp series and building my portfolio (at the same time!). Absolutely brilliant! I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the time and effort you've put into this bootcamp series. Moreover, all the content you've included to actually get a job as a data analyst using these skills is such a blessing (e.g., LinkedIn, building a portfolio, mistakes to avoid, interviewing, etc.)! You are such a wonderful human. As always, THANK YOU!
Thanks Alex, I enjoy your tutorials, you keep it simple and easy to follow.
I completed all your Tableau tutorials, and they are amazing! Thank you!
Hi Alex, could you make a video explaining real-life projects that you perform at work? I'd like to have a rough idea what projects are carried out in the healthcare industry. Cheers!

Issue: Map not showing data Resolution: If you find that the map does not pop up as in the guide check the bottom right of the map to see if any values are unknown. You may just have to change the country the data is being checked against to get the values to appear.

Hi Alex! This tutorial is very helpful and I can follow along to the end. As a beginner, I learned so much through your video. Many thanks!
I have a good level of english but I still can't understand an entire movie or song but in your course it looks like you take care to speak clear and slowly which helps those who can't speak english as a fluent language. Thanks for your videos until here!

Hi, I am part way through, just finished the map. Great tutorial as always.
Your teaching style is awesome! I appreciate your thoroughness , thank you!
you make a great instructor. i really enjoy the teaching method you are using. Simple and baby steps. Thank you.
Thank you, Alex! Your videos are easy to follow and very informative. Be blessed!
Thank you Alex! I am currently enrolled in the Google Analytic Cert program and your explanation far exceeds the instruction given in the Google program. Their program is boring chit chat and not enough hands on and explanation. I have completed your videos for Tableau and I have a few left in SQL. I appreciate your diligence, keep up the good work!
Thanks for the tutorials, Alex! They are helpful for getting me up to speed fast. One tip though: every axis should ALWAYS have units! For example, is the average price in dollars? Euros? Millions of dollars? Etc.
Thank you Alex! Requesting for more full project examples. :)
Thanks for the Project inspo Alex! Got to messing around with it myself and it's quite rewarding! Tip: for those that are also beginners like myself, you can set each of the "cards" in the dashboard as a filter so you can clean up the dashboard and remove the visual filters, and now clicking on the zipcodes on either the map or the zipcode breakdowns, the WHOLE dashboard updates itself, really neat fun feature!
Thanks, Alex for helping me to create my first ever project on tableau
Thank as always, didn't realize how quickly I'd devoured information learning about this tool.
Thank you! That was really helpful. I think I'm ready now to do my very own project, as I feel I shouldn't use this in my portfolio, as it's just a copy. So let's go and make my own project now!

Hi Alex, Love your content! I do have a question about worksheet 3 in this tutorial. If we want to analyze the demand across the year, wouldn't we be more concerned with the COUNT(price(calendar)) as opposed to the SUM(price(calendar)) ?
Thank you! This was very informative. Great introductory to Tableau!
Hey, really enjoy your videos, they're very insightful and easy to follow. Can you do a project on propensity modelling?
@ALEX - You are terrific. Great series!
big thanks to @alex i was trying to make this project with the latest datasets but unfortunately new datasets dont have the zip codes. any tip on getting the maps without the zipcode data?
Hi Alex, thank you for the great tutorial, I have a question on sheet 4, would it be more meaningful to have sum price of bedrooms instead of average, since the sum would indicate that the 2-bedrooms are often booked more than others, while averaging the price would always be 5-bedrooms > 4 bedrooms > 3..etc??
Hey Alex, thanks a lot for this project, clears many things. 1 Question : so I also want to show the top 5 ( or any number say N) Zip codes in the worksheet, my question is, how can I have a filter/list where I can chose the 'N' to give my Top N results dynamically.
Great, easy to follow tutorial!
Thank you! I've learned so much from you!
thank you for this project. learned a lot of tableau.

I just want to say thank you for putting out this great content to teach people. my favorite youtuber / data analyst. thank you for your time and effort.

Hi. This is an awesome tutorial series. Thank you. I am using the professional version. I do not see the Venn diagrams to show relationship type. Is that only shown in the free version? Thanks.
thank you alex learned alot and created my tableau dashboard
Oh the AirBnB data is so relevant even a year later, It is actually perfect for my portfolio. I would suggest doing this project for your country or region, see if you can get some extra insights.
THANKFUL FOR YOU ALEX!
Any chance we can see a part 2 or a more complex project to understand what advanced Tableau entails? Like trends(WoW, YoY) via calculated fields & parameters and LOD's? Would this dashboard be worth including in a portfolio, or should one really aim for more complex topics?
@AlexTheAnalyst
2 жыл бұрын
I think this is a good dashboard for beginners. As you get more advanced you should replace it with the better dashboards. I do plan on making more complex tableau (and other) projects in the future.
Thank you for the very very informative tutorial!
Hey Alex Hope You are doing well. Thanks for this beginner friendly project. Just a question. For this Project you have given us a combined Excel file. But in case if we downloaded data directly from Kaggle how do I combine all these csv files and use them as one? Thanks once again
Thank you so much for your great contributions
Thank you for the great content!
In the latest data set, Listing excel sheet does not contain zipcode field. Zipcode field is very crucial in this analysis. Please suggest any workaround to this.
Thank you so much, Alex!
Thank you Alex for such a helpful video. I really enjoyed the whole project and your amazing explanation as well. I just have one question on your analysis, I don't know if I missed it or if it's actually wrong, tho: Why is it you decided to use SUM of the price for the Data Viz of Price for the year? I mean, when doing it on my own I thought it makes more sense if you take that price and use it as AVG, because that way you can show the avg increase or decrease of the price of the property listed all through the year. Please, if you or any of the other fellow viewers can share any answer to this question, it'd be appreciated.
Thank you SO MUCH FOR THIS!!! YOU ARE HELPING ME OUT SO MUCH, THANK YOU BRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANKS SO MUCH THIS WAS FUN!
I did the same project but for Vienna, the tricky part was working without zipcodes, so I needed to connect each neighborhood zipcode to each neighborhood from the table. Thank you so much for this tutorial! :)

Hey, I am trying this on the present dataset of Seattle but facing the same issue. I have observed some neighbourhoods have two zip codes. Did you face similar issue?
@nimrod4463
10 ай бұрын
@@tanyabahl9894 "Not only can a street be in different zip codes; but buildings can and do have multiple zip codes by floor, suite, company, or any division that produces significant mail for sorting, bundling, and delivery. Zip codes are not for defining geographic locations but logistics and delivery efficiency." Sometimes they do, it is not mainly about location. In my project, in vienna, it is pretty organized that way, but it is not neccesary. I would leave both zipcodes for the same neighbourhood.
very helpful video, love it !
Thank you Alex!
The reason the initial joins failed is because you only joined the review table on id = id and didn't also join the review dates, so every review per location was added to every date, rather than a 1:1 relationship. The join was bad.
@user-fi5oi9vy3s
2 жыл бұрын
sad but true, going forward, would be better to do the joining practice in SQL first before going to tableau. Hard to handle and confirmed the correctness of each joining if we have bulk data with many columns in tableau
This video was great! It seems to take Tableau a lot of time to load data. I thought it was just a me issue, but from your video, it seems that this is a flaw within Tableau? Do you have any suggestions on ways to speed up processing time?
Thanks a lot, Alex !
