Orochi has hit checks appearing at hp/time intervals. For those who are having trouble and getting team wiped. The timing of the skills for the skill cancel hit check at 2:00 and 1:35 on the boss is crucial. If your skills are being used before the boss's purple hit check appears then you may need to increase the skill haste debuff or adjust your skill haste. ASPD also affects it as the hit check works from attack hit procs. The easiest workaround is actually just to manual it by turning your ultimate from auto to manual and then to hold ultimate skills when its close to the hit check so that you can fire them all off after the Purple Hit Check Gauge appears.

Thank for the guide! I swapped regular Shin Jia for the Awakened one and she absolutely clowns on that boss with her buffs. Despite having much worse gear on most of my units, I still finished Challenge with a time of 1:21 left on the clock, which put me in Top 15% for now. My Estarosa did die, though, which might have cost me a good few points (I only got 10k, not 15 like you) but Chifuyu comfortably tanked anyway.

Nice! Awakened Shin Jia seems like a really good buffer pick for those who don't want to use the awakened debuff (though I think people still use it with her at the lower awakened debuff)

Thanks! Full auto didn't work for me, so I turned off auto skill usage and switched it on only at 2:00 and 1:35 and it helped!

Chinatsu is a great unit! Saved me a lot in pvp with her on-deploy res buff. But for this DC even better with the combat environment buffs.

This did help me a lot especially in challenge mode, but I still couldn't beat it in challenge mode but it did help me get more points. I used the same units as you did but when it comes to my units gears could be the problem. Just thinking but can you use Rearmed Orca instead of Estarosa?.

Is this with or without the 'high intensity plan' challenge debuffs? Gears do make a big difference - I though maybe without debuffs, the free gears from taskforce and the recent antagonist mail gears would be enough so I didn't address it :( Also is your Estarosa rearmed? If not that would make a big difference as well. What you can do is run multiple healer as well - so Evelyn + Chinatsu. If the problem is with the skill cancel, then also consider playing manually to time the ultimate skills of units to cancel Orochi's skill. Hope this helps a bit - let me know if you still have any hurdles and what they are and I can brainstorm a bit. Rather than rearm orca, I think a well built Chifuyu would be better with the combat environment buff we have for this round.

@@kilvaeratul My Estarosa is rearmed. I start losing units when the clock hits 1:30. I think my problem is that my Estarosa and Chifuyu don't have enough anti-ground dmg res so it could be that's why I keep losing. I think I'll add another healer which would be Claudia for more healing and if that doesn't work I'll keep on trying with different units.

1:30 is when the cancellable skill hits. The timer starts at 1:35. Is it related to this? Chinatsu I am suggesting because of the buff she gets. The Nanahara Alliance units are all worth considering because of the environmental buff this season. The boss doesn't normally hit the backline if your tank is still up. So if team is getting wiped then it means the tank is dying or the other scenario is that Orochi's skill doesn't get cancelled in time when the Purple Skill Cancel Gauge appears. In which case, 1) Redeploy your main tank before they die (reserve DP to do this before they die) or 2) Hold Ultimate Skills to Burst Orochi when the Purple Skill Guage appears. If all else fails, more healer/support with more CDR gears.

cool guide. helped me a lot. but the only wierd thing i discovered at my tries is......my Esterosa doesnt get healed by the Ultimates from Eve and Hang :/. Her HP bar drops and drops till her passive procs. even with full tank gear 64% ground res and 24% melee res

Orochi has a healing block so if it's active then your units won't get healed, so its a timing issue if you need the heals.

@@ddolgov We don't actually need Evelyn - I use her here because it improves the auto clear rate. Her heal does work it just doesn't work when the heal block debuff is up - if you refer to the video you will see that the heal ticks are proccing - so it's a matter of how much skill haste we have and deployment order/time along with deployment resource gain. Edit: If tank is undergeared, healer or shielder is really important to have.

Thanks for the guide, man. Is there anywhere to read intel on the boss ingame? She wipes me at 1:30 i have no idea why. With limited tries and no ingame explanation,(i assume?) it's a questionable design choice for me

Yeah, haven't been able to figure that one out. Some stuff like Guild Co-Op bosses we can read about in-game. Only way so far that I've been able to gain some insight into mechanics is by repeating the stage over and over again since attempt isn't used if you back out :/ Would be nice if we had an in-game explanation of boss skills.

gonna try it later, dunno if can do it because my gear sucks lel

Should still be doable with poor gear or even no gear, but then you may not be able to use the bonus challenge debuffs. Consider using someone like Awakened Shin Jia if you have her as well - she is really good.

how do you keep the orb alive on challenge? I noticed that my orb kept dying at around 1:40 of the fight and the lightning just wipe my team.

If you are having issues keeping the orb alive, then you can consider using some units that provide barrier as support units. Since barrier isn't impacted by Orochi's heal block debuff. Top tier teams I realized are just skipping past that hit check with massive damage ~

I tried your strat and got 10k points without any handicaps but when i retried today with the same handicaps as your, i can't kill the boss , my team dies at 2:00 min mark, any suggestions? The gears are pretty much the same but i am using bbmk2 instead of Detroit

Try this instead: kzread.info/dash/bejne/k3-p0ZqRZq7Aedo.html If your team is dying chances are that, it is unable to clear the hit check or your tank is dying - modify debuffs based on that. Use a different ship such as Stellar, Detroit, Lake Superior.

Is that because the team is not cancelling the boss's skill? The cancellable skill appears around the 2 minute mark and 1:35 mark. If your teams skill haste, etc is not the same as mine then the procs may not occur when they need to - to cancel on auto, so it depends on your gear/the skill haste/aspd debuffs you are using. The easiest solution is just to manual that segment with the skill cancel by timing your ults on manual (hold them) for the skill cancel for skills that have hits.
