Fukushima: The Never-Ending Challenge of Cleaning Up the Nuclear Disaster Area

Subscribe to / @robloak
In 2011, the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant disaster claimed the lives of up to 18,000 people and resulted in the leakage of radioactive material, rendering the surrounding area uninhabitable.
Despite the passing of decades, the process of recovery and cleanup remains far from complete. The removal of nuclear fuel rods has posed significant challenges, and only recently has the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) approved Japan's plan to release treated water into the ocean, sparking widespread opposition and concern.

I love how Karuna is casually walking whilst being followed by the drone, with Hugh narrating gave me goosebumps. Another amazing informative well put-together documentary by my absolute favourite channel. 👌

If they do it right, there will be no injuries, deaths or radiation illnesses, just like to the present.

Doesnt need much thinking that dirty water is not good to release to the ocean
